Frequently Asked Questions
Our Scooter Link customers often have many questions before purchasing medical equipment, so we thought we'd answer the most frequently asked questions (FAQ) here on our Web site. If you have a question that is not answered here, please don't hesitate to call us TOLL FREE at 1-888-910-0444.
1. What products do you sell?
Along with the power chairs, scooters, and lift chairs pictured on our Web site, we also carry a full line of hospital beds, patient lifts, geriatric chairs, manual wheelchairs, luxury adjustable beds, and walkers. Please don't hesitate to call us if you are in need of something not listed here. We have a full staff of people who work at locating those hard to find items.
2. When I call, will I have to go through an automated service or will I speak to a real person?
At Scooter Link, you will always speak to a person instead of an automated service during normal business hours. We find that the personal touch ensures the best chance to find the perfect equipment for your situation.
3. What type of warranty do you have on your products?

Parts and Labor on all our products..
Free overnighted parts for the length of the manufacture's warranty on all other products.

4. What do you charge for shipping?

Free shipping on all our products.

5. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express and personal checks.
6. How long will it take to get my equipment?
All in-stock items take 3 to 7 working days to get to you (Continental U.S.). If an item is not in stock, we will inform you with an estimated time of arrival.
7. Do you sell equipment for people who are over the normal weight limit specified on standard equipment?
Absolutely. Although the average weight capacity for medical equipment is between 200 and 300 lbs., we offer a full line of products for people who weigh more. The industry has developed many different products to meet this need.
8. Can you explain the best way to care for the batteries in my unit?
If you charge your equipment at night, it should be fully charged in the morning and ready for 4 to 6 hours of continuous driving time. This should get you through the day with no problem. If you do not use your equipment for a long period of time, you should still charge it at least once a week. If your batteries go completely dead, the charger will not come on and you may need to put some charge into the batteries with another source until your onboard charger goes on. If your batteries stay dead for a long period of time, it can ruin them. The older your batteries get, the shorter your driving time. The average life expectancy of your batteries is one to two years.
9. What about sales tax on these items?
Many medical equipment products are tax exempt. Some items are taxable, but at this time, shipping from one state to another makes it tax exempt. You would pay no sales tax if you live outside of Florida.
10. Do you handle insurance?
We will bill many different types of insurance for you. Any insurance that we do not handle will be referred to a network of medical equipment stores that we supply to throughout the country.
11. What if I am not covered under my insurance for the product I need or do not have insurance?
We offer a tremendous savings over the normal retail prices on all our products.
12. What is your return policy?
Other than returns under warranty, if you are not happy with the product you received, the following would apply: You would be responsible for shipping the product to and from your location at your expense as well as a 20% processing fee. We will credit your account after the equipment has been returned in its original condition. It is our goal to make sure your needs are filled and have chosen the right product before we ship anything to you.
