MEMBERSHIP

Any rider who enters the track before registering or on a bike that has not been tech inspected is subject to a fine of \$25.00 or more at the discretion of the race director.

Late fee may be charge at descretion of Registrar.

ENDURANCE FEES

AGE REQUIREMENTS

8 years old and up. Riders under 18 must have parents notarized signature to race.

RIDING GEAR

Full race leathers are strongly recommended. Leather jacket, leather gloves, leather boots that cover the ankle, and a full face helmet are required.

INSURANCE

The Texas Mini GP Series does NOT provide medical insurance. Each rider must have their own personal medical insurance policy.

GRID POSITIONS

Grid positions will be chosen at random. In the endurance races, experts will be gridded ahead of novices.

NUMBERS

Use your assigned number whenever possible. If you are riding a loaner bike, be sure to let registration know in advance.

NOVICE/EXPERT

1. If you won a class championship last year, then you are an expert.

2. If you win the beginners race then you will be an expert the next year.

3. If you are an expert with any other race organization, then you will most likely to be an expert with the TMGP.

4. If you or most of your competitors think you should be an expert, then most likely you are an expert.

5. The final decision will be at the discretion of the race promoter.

CLASSES OF COMPETITION

Production classes-Stock engines and exhaust systems!!! See production class rules.

Beginners-Novices only. Once you win this class you are no longer eligible. Winners will be automatically nominated for rookie of the year.

Lightweight-Up to 145 lbs including riding gear.

Mediumweight-146 to 175 lbs including riding gear.

Heavyweight-176 and over.

Intermediate-Fast novices, especially those who have won the beginner class, and experts who have not won a trophy in an expert sprint race in the past 12 months.

Expert-One race only.

Age 12 and under-Expert and novice combined.

Age 23 and under-Expert and novice combined.

Age 24-29-Expert and novice combined.

Age 30 and up-Expert and novice combined.

Dinosaurs-Expert and novice combined. Must be over 40 years old or weigh over 200 lbs.

Ladies-Expert and novice combined.

Backwards-Expert and novice combined. No practice and no hot lap.

Unlimited-Expert and novice combined.

Big wheel class-Expert and novice combined. Up to 50cc big wheel motorcycles.

Race of champions-No charge to qualifiers. You must ride the same bike that you qualified on.

Production-Top 3 from the expert class, top 2 from the weight classes, and top 2 from the age classes.

Superbike-Top 2 from each supersport and top 5 from each superbike novice and expert classes.

Race of back markers-No charge to qualifiers. Any racer who finished last in any of the above races is eligible. You must race the bike that you qualified on. Gridding is first come, first serve with novices gridded ahead of experts. There will be a wave start.

ALL OF THE ABOVE CLASSES REQUIRE A LICENSE TO ENTER

SCOOTER CLASSES-Entry fee is \$5.00/class and no license is required.

Scooter-This class is for mopeds, Z-50s, and scooters. Others will be disqualified at the starting line.

Super Scooter-Four strokes up to 100cc. Two strokes up to 80cc. Any size step through scooter.

In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by most wins, second places, etc.

PROTESTS-The protest fee is \$40.00 cash for any protest that does not involve splitting the engine cases. An additional \$40.00 will be required to split the engine cases. If a cosmetic fault is found, the protested rider may pay a \$10.00 fine to retain points. The cosmetic fault must be corrected before the next race weekend. If a performance fault is found, the protested rider will lose points. the protest fee will be refunded if a fault is found, if not then the protested rider will retain the fee.

TEARDOWNS-As promoters, we reserve the right to tear down any bike for any reason.

PRODUCTION CLASS RULES

1. The entire bike must be an original U. S. street legal YSR-50 motorcycle with no modifications except those listed under production class rules herein.

2. Any grips, foot pegs and peg mounting brackets, rear shock, seat, fenders, DOT tires, and sprockets may be used.

3. Up to .5MM overbore using OEM YSR-50 pistons is legal.

4. The frame may be strengthened or repaired by welding or the addition of welded on braces. Wheel base must remain stock.

5. Front suspension-Any fork springs, caps, fork brace, fork oil, or steering damper can be used on the stock YSR forks and lower fork legs.

6. Brakes-Any brake pads and lines can be used.

7. Air box snorkel may be removed. OEM type foam air filter must be used.

8. After market body work may be used as long as they appear stock and do not enhance the aerodynamics. Lower fairings may be removed.

9. Any clutch springs or clutch plates may be used.

10. Any reeds may be used as long as the unmodified stock reed cage is used.

11. Carburetor jets and needles can be change.

12. Handlebars may be changed or altered but must be mounted in the stock position.

13. An aftermarket rear wheel can be used as long as enough weights are added to make it equal in weight to a stock wheel. Also, It must not be wider than a stock wheel. (Using an aluminum front wheel with 2 pounds of additional weight will meet this qualification)

14. The use of oxygen enriched fuel additives is prohibited.

15. May remove the oil injector system.

16. The left engine side cover may be modified to facilitate front sprocket changes. This should be accomplished with a minimum of metal removal.

17. The side stand mounting bracket may be shortened to prevent it from dragging.

18. The battery charge coil may be disconnected or removed.

19. All other changes or modifications, not specifically stated above, are not allowed.

SUPERSPORT CLASS RULES

Same as Production with the following exceptions:

1. Any exhaust system may be used. It must have a silencer.

2. Air box may be removed or modified. If you also run the production class you may tape over any holes in the air box.

3. Any jetting allowed to the OEM carburetor.

SUPERBIKE CLASS RULES

The modified (Superbike) class will be open to carburetor, engine, frame and suspension modifications providing they do not exceed the specifications listed herein.

1. Maximum displacement of 61cc.

2. Maximum of 100cc 4-strokes, mounted in YSR-50 frames, will be allowed in the endurance races.

3. Must use an original engine cylinder, lower cases, crankshaft, transmission and clutch gearing from a YSR-50. These may be modified.

4. No liquid cooling.

5. Exhaust must have a silencer.

6. Front suspension must use stock YSR-50 fork tubes and fork legs.

7. Wheel diameter must be the same as a stock YSR-50.

8. No oxygenated fuel additives.

UNLIMITED CLASS RULES

Same as superbike with the following additions or modifications

1. Up to 80cc 2-strokes and 100cc 4-strokes

2. Any engine modifications including total engine replacement will be allowed.

3. Any fuels and additives, except those containing nitrobenzene or other highly carcinogenic additives, may be used but the Tech inspector must be notified if alcohol is going to be used.

No experts allowed on novice teams. Any combination of novices and experts can make up an expert team.

Special rules

1. Maximum of three riders per team.

2. Single rider teams must notify the race director before the start of the race. There will be a mandatory pit stop and the rider must get off the bike and remove his helmet.

Endurance scoring

1. Each team will be required to furnish a scorer.

2. Teams will be scored 1 point for each lap and 1 point for each team they beat, regardless of the class.

TECHNICAL INSPECTION: MACHINE REQUIREMENTS

All race bikes must pass tech inspection. The tech inspector may at any time revoke approval of the bike if it no longer meets requirements. The tech inspector may at his discretion allow a "temporary fix" for a non safety related problem for a particular race weekend.

1. Axle nuts, oil filler and drain, brake caliper mounting bolts, and torque arms, must be either safety wired or cotter pinned. "R" type clips may be used in certain applications, but must be wired closed.

2. Oil and gas lines must be made secure.

3. Water cooled machines must use only water as a coolant. No antifreeze.

4. The bike must have an operating kill switch.

5. The throttle must be self closing.

6. Front and rear brakes must be in good working condition.

7. Any glass or plastic must be taped.

8. Tires must be in good condition.

9. Removable exhaust baffles must be safety wired.

10. If a speedometer or tachometer are used, the cable must be safety wired at both ends.
