Year 1: All students study the same five Psychology modules (plus an elective module). These provide the necessary background in the main areas of Psychology (social, developmental, cognitive, physiological), as well as introducing research methods, IT and study skills.
Year 2: All students study research methods and cognitive psychology, plus three other modules from four mainstream areas (social, developmental, individual adaptation, physiological).For the sixth module students choose which degrees route they wish to take by selecting either a fourth mainstream area psychology, applied psychology , forensic psychology or sport psychology.
Year 3: Students take modules appropriate to their chosen degree and a double module research project.
These degrees confer British Psychological Society Graduate Basis for registration (GBR), which allows graduates to go on to train as professional psychologists.
