General Insurance and Rate Conditions for Car and Truck Rentals
1. DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
A valid licence issued at least 12 months before is requested.
Customer must be minimum:
- 19 years old to rent cars up to an engine power 1.6, trucks or 7/9 seat Vans.
- 25 years old to rent cars with higher engine power.
Costumer must communicate, at rental pick - up time, any other person that might drive the vehicle though he will be held responsible in any case.
Costomers under 23 years old are subject to an extra supplement of 6.000 Lit. per day.
Second driver must meet same requirements as the first driver. An extra charge of 4.800 LIT per day will be applied.
For rentals of vehicles over 1.4 engine power, a credit card is required.
For special vehicles and in particular areas, rental locations might require two credit cards.
For rentals of cars over 1.4. engine power, customer is subject to the payment of a deposit equal to the estimated rental cost and ; 50% of the deductibles ( see brochure "Sicur Rent").
2. PAYMENT
Major credit cards are accepted.
3. INSURANCES AND EXTRA SERVICES
All the vehicles are insured for public liability in compliance with the provisions of law. For other insurances and protections, besides other extra services, see brochure "SicurRent".
4. REFUELLING CHARGE
Vehicles are rented with a full tank and should be returned with the same, otherwise besides the missing fuel an extra charge of 24.000 LIT will be applied as a Refuelling charge.
5. ONE-WAY RENTALS
Italy:
An extra charge of 60.000 LIT per rental will be applied if cars are returned in a different city from pick - up. Unless otherwise agreed, one-way rentals to/from Sardinia and the rest of Italy are not allowed.
Abroad:
One-way rentals abroad are allowed only for some car groups to/from some cities. One-way surcharge may vary according to the drop off location with a maximum charge of 1.800.000 LIT per rental.
For one-way rental costs please contact our Reservation Office or starting rental location.
N.B. Trucks cannot be dropped off in a different renting location.
6. VEHICLE RETURN
At rental pick - up time customer will be asked where and when vehicle will be dropped off. If he wishes to extend the rental beyond the term agreed or wishes to drop off the vehicle in a different city the location of rental start should be advised.
Rental days are based on a 24 hour period starting at the time the vehicle is collected. Late return, over 24 hours and 59 minutes will be subject to an additional day charge.
For those rates linked to a specific rental length (such as weekend), should the vehicle be returned after the 59 minutes grace the whole rental will be charged at daily rate.
Vehicles returned out of office hours are accepted but this should be agreed in advance with the check-out location. Charge will be based on the office reopening hours .
The rental will be closed only when the keys are returned unless customer gives a statement of loss or theft.
In case of loss or theft of the rented vehicle keys a surcharge of 300.000 LIT will be applied.
The vehicle should be returned, except for the fair wear and tear, in the same conditions and with the same optionals as at rental start.
7. DRIVING
Customer is allowed to drive in all the European Countries except for those listed on the rental agreement.
Customer is responsible for the correct usage and for any ordinary maintenance of the vehicle.
The customer will be charged, for the Road Tax of an extra L. 3320 per each rental day (maximun charge of 6 days)
8. EXTRAORDINARY EVENTS
Theft or fire:
In case of theft or fire a deductible will be charged.
Such deductible cannot be totally eliminated but can only be reduced by undersigning the Theft Protection (T.P.) that is not an insurance but a coverage. The deductible may be reduced or eliminated in certain areas through the subscription of Super TP protection (STP). For the deductible charges other protections, besides other extra services, sea brochure "Sicur Rent". Theft Protection Deductible and charges are quoted on the "SicurRent" brochure. In case of partial theft or fire please see Damages paragraph. Should there be a total or partial theft or fire of vehicle the customer must always make a report to the local authority and hand over a copy to the nearest renting location. Should the vehicle be stolen with the keys the coverage decays.
Damages:
In case of damages to the rented vehicle whatever are the circumstances customer is held responsible for any repair works up to the deductible for each single event. The deductible may be reduced by subscribing the Collision Demage Waiver (CDW) and totally eliminated with the subscription of Total Collision Demage Coverage (SKO). For the deductible and the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Superkasko (SKO) coverage charges please refer to the "SicurRent" brochure. Customer will not be charged for any damages should the counterpart undertake all the responsibilities for the accident (filling in CID form).
Expenses:
Possible charges that customer might have sustained for the rented vehicle are refundable provided that an invoice registered to Rental Car is handed over.
Replacement:
If customer needs to replace the rented vehicle such service is supplied by all the renting locations upon availability. Substitution should be made with the same car group rented. In case of lack of such group, substitution may occur with:
a lower group: in this case customer will be entitled to a 10% discount for each down-grading for the whole replacement period .
a higher group: in this case for the first 15 days no extra charge will be applied, unless customer wishes to keep the higher vehicle after renting location gives the availability for the same car group customer is entitled to. Anyhow after the first 15 days a 20% surcharge for each upgrading group will be applied for the remaining rental length.
The Rental Car may at its own discretion refuse to provide a replacement car in case of theft, fire, total destruction or irreparable damage to the rented car.
Mileometer:
In case of failure of the vehicles mileometer the rental mileage will be calculated as per 250 kms for each rental day.

Rates within the maximum one displayed at renting locations
12% Airport surcharge for all rentals starting at all Italian airport renting locations
deductible supplements and services above stated besides the ones described on the "SicurRent" brochure.
Fuel and V.A.T.
Traffic Fines or any other sanction due to incautious entrust of the vehicle (according to the Italian Circulation law)
Road Tax
For special vehicles, subject to prepaid reservation, a 100.000 lit charge will be applied in case a customer cancels the rental without a 48 hour prior notice.

All the prices shown on this brochure are either exempt or inclusive of 20% V.A.T.
