Keith Bontrager Visits St. Louis

Invited by Jay Thomas, pretty cool bike dude, and owner of the local Trek Bicycle Store to come out for the Keith Bontrager appearance at the Store on Wednesday night May 18th. He promises free beer, what better way to lure GORC members to an event. Plus, he says that they'll have a big raffle, and all the proceeds go to GORC!!! BONUS!
We roll up and start to unload the GORC gospel literature, we hang a banner and start drinking beer and buying raffle tix. Of course, the dozen or so GORC members are scooping up tix, including your's truly, as we look around the store. Cool selection of the latest Trek goodies on hand, several GF 29rs, a TON of cool Madone road bikes, and boat-loads of Bontrager components...duh.
So Keith is ready to start talking and we take some seats (in the back, by the beer...again, duh). He proceeds to tell stories and answer questions about the bike industry, product development, and other shiznit for well over an hour, and probably could'a gone longer.
Then they announce the raffle. Since the GORC members bought tons of tickets, almost every GORC attendee went home with something, except Kirby who was pissed (see the picture, we told him his face would freeze like that!)
The Pimp even won a set of 29r tires (Bontrager Jones) sweet.
We had a ton of cash come in due to the raffle. It's going to a good cause. Trail tools!!
