MDOT to begin work on M-36 in Ingham County

Traffic Restrictions: Preparation for the resurfacing project will start as early as Monday, May 2, including some off-road work in the town of Dansville. By mid-week, the contractor will begin installing curbs and gutters. This work will have a minimal impact on traffic. When the work is completely under way, two-way traffic will be maintained using flag control during daytime hours only, with a maximum two-mile work zone.

Project: This $888,800 project includes installing new curbs and gutters, milling (or grinding off the top layer), and asphalt resurfacing along 8.9 miles of M-36 from Dexter Trail to Meech Road east of Mason.

Customer Benefit: The project continues a commitment by MDOT and the Granholm administration to create jobs, improve quality of life and provide the highest quality transportation services for Michigan residents and businesses. The asphalt overlay is expected to extend the life of the pavement by approximately five years.
