31.05.2005 Goodwood: Mikkola to be reunited with "original" quattro
"Flying Finn" Hannu Mikkola was reunited in Britain today (26 May) with a car which changed forever the face of rallying.
In October 1980, Mikkola tested an Audi quattro rally car for the very first time in public on the Algarve Rally in Portugal.
This original four-wheel-drive Audi quattro has recently been fully and beautifully renovated by Manchester-based businessman John Hanlon.
1983 world champion Mikkola was present at Goodwood and will contest a "special stage" event at this year's Festival of Speed (24-26 June) in the Hanlon-owned quattro.
