Message: : Ken the Type 4 bus engine is an excellent choice for a sandrail. : You have 2000ccs in an unmodified engine. This is a stronger : engine from the base out. The case is aluminum and full flowed : from the factory. Very seldom seeds to be line bored as : magnesium cases do. The crank and rods are just so much stronger : than a bug engine. There is an assortment of performance : equipment available including cams ,big bore, heads, intakes, even : stroker cranks if desired. The weak point is the stock heads but : if they are reworked to include new seats they are fine. The : trouble in the past has been dropped seats as a result of : pushing the heavy bus and excessive temps resulting. This is not : a problem in a rail. : I like this engine because it makes a lot of torque down low. : I have given you a link here to allow you to be better informed. : The link is for shop talk forums click on type 4 forum from that : home page also from that page click on to type 4 secrets : revealed : http://www.shoptalkforums.com Good luck.
