Is it feasible for a rail to be successful in road racing/auto-X? I have put 16x8's up front with 245/50/16's and 16x10's on back with 255/50/16's. I am sure that brake proportioning is important. I have the battery up front to help a little with the weight. Is understeer going to be my biggest flaw? It has a Swing Axle rear rear soon to be changed to IRS. I am going to use many of the tricks in James Halle's (sp?) book on How to get your Beetle to handle, if this would work.If not I will stick to what I have and go for a street-mild off road style. Thoughts and concerns appreciated. Links to similar projects VERY apprecitaed.
