The engine number is on top of the block just ahead of the oil pressure switch and behind the tin top cover. What you are looking for are two letters. T0405 (for example) is just the engine plant in Tonawanda, NY and the date it was built. If you find an RM, RB, RR or RN after the date, those are the best letters as they are the 140HP engine. Let me know what you find and I'll tell you what the letters mean. If the engine has dual carb pads on each head, you have the best one. Single pads are 110HP or less.
