SCORE-INTERNATIONAL OFF ROAD RACING

PRE-RUNNING INFORMATION ¨C 2005 TECATE SCORE BAJA 500

Pre-running opens on Saturday, May 14 at Ojos Negos / HWY 3 KM 39 - Mile 34.0

The section from Ojos Negros to just north of Tres Hermanos is a Two-Way section.
In order to prevent two-way traffic of participants during pre-running, either stop your pre-run at
HWY 3 KM 77 Mile 345.9 OR Continue on course to the Two-Way traffic junction just north of
Tres Hermanos at Mile 369.6 and go left at this junction all the way to HWY 1 at Uruapan.
Absolutely no pre-running back to Ojos Negros from the junction just north of Tres Hermanos.

The Ensenada Start Line to Ojos Negros outbound is NOT open for pre-running until Monday, May 30.

From Monday, May 30 to Friday, June 3 - there will be absolutely no inbound pre-running permitted from Ojos Negros to the Ensenada Baseball Stadium Finish Line. OUTBOUND PRE-RUNNING ONLY.

PLEASE NOTE - Although SCORE has mailed out this information and posted it on our website, it does not guarantee that a participant will disregard these rules and pre-run backwards (INBOUND) on the two-way sections. Please use caution.

The course notes and GPS course waypoints will be posted on the SCORE website (www.score-international.com) by May 9th.

All drivers and riders must possess a valid Driver License while pre-running the race course.

All roads you will be pre-running on are open to the public. Many of these roads are the only way in and out of ranches. At all times you must expect to encounter oncoming traffic. Be alert for cattle and horses roaming freely on and around the course.

The Mexican Federal Preventative Police expect you to exercise extreme caution while pre-running on all paved highway sections. The posted speed limit will be enforced at their discretion. Pass on the highways only when safe to do so.

Pre-running is exactly that - familiarizing yourself with the race course at a safe pace, not at race speeds.

All gates must be closed. Do not assume the next pre-runner will close them for you. Please respect the landowners.

Everyone must do their part to protect and preserve the Baja ecological environment. Please properly dispose of all solid and liquid waste during your pre-run. Do not litter, start fires, or deviate from the marked course.

The course is marked with white and orange ribbon, orange reflective tape, black-on-orange directional arrows, green wrong ways and mile markers at five mile intervals.

Remember, it is truly a privilege to enjoy our sport by pre-running in The Baja. Let's all take an active roll in protecting what we love to do in Baja. Although only a small percentage of our racers are irresponsible, they negatively impact all of us.

SCORE International thanks you in advance for your cooperation.
