This is a very complete 12 volt electronic ignition kit for any scooter with a VBB/VBC/VLB-type flywheel, including similar 125cc models.

This is probably the best upgrade to add to your Vespa, and exactly what we add to our restorations. Great for stock scooters, even better for tuned scooters. By replacing the original 6v point system with our 12v electronic ignition kit using magnetic pick up, you get brighter lights, easier starting, and a better running engine.

The kit is quite easy to add to your scooter. (Upon purchase we will provide full instructions with photos in your email receipt.) It attaches to your scooter as-is but there are a few points to note:

1) It could go elsewhere, but based on our experience we have designed the kit with the regulator and CDI box tucked neatly in the left cowl/panel. This requires you to remove the gas tank when installing and drill holes to attach those two items as shown, and also drill a larger hole for the wiring loom to pass through. A rubber bit is supplied for this larger hole so that it then perfectly matches the opposite cowl's wiring loom hole.

2) Unless you rewire the entire scooter with a full loom (which you can order separately, see part PV1215), you will only be wiring the kit into the existing wiring. Easy, but because of the original loom, the brake light will only work now if the scooter's lights are turned on. This is not an issue at night, of course, but in the day, if you don't already, then you will need to have the lights on for the brake light to work. If you are restoring your scooter, order a complete loom and this "limitation" can be avoided.

3) We have found that the original 6v horn continues to work fine, as does the little speedo light, so these are not included. You can always add them later if needed.

4) To take off the flywheel requires a special puller like our PV1904. (A regular PX one won't work.) Order one if you don't have one already.

5) You might need to slot the holes on the stator to turn it to your scooters exact timing settings (comes at 22 degrees).

All around, very highly recommended!
