Scholarships and Awards Available

The following Scholarships and Awards are available to students in Agricultural Engineering:

John Deere Foundation Scholarship - $2,500
The award is made to an outstanding junior in Agricultural Engineering for use during their senior year. Based upon academic performance, society activities, leadership, cooperative attitude, and need.

Sandra and Richard Carlson Scholarship - $1,000
Awarded to an Agricultural Engineering student based upon academic merit and past activities showing a strong promise of success in future endeavors.

Bernard C. Mathews/Mathews Company Award - $1,000
This is a merit-based scholarship available to an Agricultural Engineering student majoring in Off-Road Equipment Engineering and whose primary interests are in the design/development of farm equipment, including crop dryers. Other criteria include emphasis on high scholastic achievement; leadership potential and need may also be considered.

General Mills Food and Bioprocessing Scholarship (applied directly to tuition bill) - $1,000
This award is available to an Agricultural Engineering student majoring in Food and Bioprocess Engineering and is based on demonstrated leadership, service, scholarship, and personal character.

Bateman Congeniality Award - $500
This award is given to a student in Agricultural Engineering. Student's ability for "getting along with people."

Frank W. Bauling Memorial Scholarship - $500
Must be a junior with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Financial need will weigh heavily in deciding the recipient. Preference will be given to a student who is a graduate of Hononegah Community School, Winnebago County, Northern Illinois, State of Illinois (in order stated).

K.J.T. Ekblaw Scholarship Award - $500
This award is available to a sophomore in Agricultural Engineering. Based on scholastic standing, leadership and activities. It is a needs scholarship.

Frank B. Lanham Award - $500
Available to a freshman or transfer student in Agricultural Engineering. Emphasize promising leadership qualities and capabilities, scholastic achievements and potential success in pursuing a career in agricultural engineering.

E.W. Lehman Senior Award (more than one award) - $500
Presented to senior students in Agricultural Engineering based on excellence of scholarship, personal qualities and professional activity. Preference is given to students who missed out on other recognition. Additional criteria - need (particularly for those who work), determination, improvement since freshmen year, activities (but not service to the student branch), scholarship (but not necessarily high GPA), and any adversities that may have been overcome.
