Coleman Family Values
From Cycle Imports to the dynamic Coleman PowerSports of today, many things have changed, but some remain the same. The Coleman Family has been involved since 1963. That's over 40 years of experience in one family, in one locale, in one industry. We back up every promise to our customers with 40 years of experience and expertise. We are committed to providing the Coleman family of customers the best in service, selection and price.
A few months after opening, Dillard Coleman, who retained ownership for more than 37 years, bought "Cycle Imports." The store experienced exponential growth, moving several times. As the industry evolved, so did we. By 1982, Coleman operated five stores throughout Northern Virginia. But our primary focus --our customers' wants and needs-- remained the same.
During this time of growth, we recognized the need to centralize our management and administrative efforts. The result: a move to 435 South Washington Street, Falls Church, Virginia. We also established a store in Woodbridge, Virginia.
The renamed "Coleman PowerSports" reflected our philosophy of "family and fun," and the broad range of products we now carry. In 1996, we also expanded our Woodbridge location.
The Woodbridge expansion allowed us the luxury of designing and building a state-of-the-art powersports dealership from the ground up. From the original 800 square foot facility to our current superstores totaling over 70,000 square feet, Mr. Coleman guided the company and its employees with a sure hand.
After more than 40 years, Mr. Dillard Coleman retired and the stores were sold to PowerRide MotorSports, Inc. The sale connected the two stores in Virginia to the PowerRide Network, which includes five other dealerships across the country. Each store retains the character and expertise unique to its locale, but cooperative buying power ensures even greater value for our customers. In 2001, Richard Stein became the new CEO and President of PowerRide MotorSports, Inc.
The Coleman influence remains strong. Kim Coleman Harrison, manager of Coleman PowerSports for 20 years, exudes her father's love for the industry and the family business. Her hard won expertise helps employees provide each customer with more than a great buying experience. At Coleman, we provide our customers with products and services that help you get the most out of life.
