Flamengo
The Petrobras sponsorship of Flamengo is one of the most lasting partnerships in Brazilian sport. The Lubrax name has been displayed on the red-black soccer strips of the Brazilian club with the largest fan club since 1984. Although common in European soccer clubs, sports sponsorship was at that time something new to Brazil.
In 1994, the back of the strips bore the name of Petrobras. Another innovation was to extend the use of Lubrax and Petrobras names to uniforms, jackets and travel wear and to every other professional and amateur sport. Two years later, the company's logo was also added to the Flamengo strip.
It is the union of Flamengo perseverance and talent with Petrobras competence and tradition. Wherever Flamengo is, Petrobras is there too - in the bus, field and Gavea sports facilities.
