Petrobras CEO Jos¨¦ Eduardo Dutra and Manoel Luiz Oliveira, president of the Brazilian Handball Confederation (CBH) signed an agreement for sponsorship to the Brazilian Handball team at a ceremony on June 20, at 4pm, in Aracaju Yacht Club.
The main purpose of the contract, called the Brazil Handball Project, lasting until December 2004, is to provide ongoing support to the Male and Female Olympic Teams, plus other social activities, in order to democratize, develop and strengthen Brazilian handball.
Prof. Manoel Luiz Oliveira, president of the Brazilian Handball Confederation, says that the signing of this agreement marks a new phase in Brazilian handball. "It's a goal of gold. This is the independence of Brazilian handball. We have always been looking for partnerships. If Brazilian handball is now where it is without official sponsorship, then this sport will certainly go on to a further success and many achievements", he said.
The management and international victories, namely the bronze medals in the World Beach Handball championship (male/female), have contributed to increase the credibility and consolidation of this partnership.
