As a fan of CHIPS , all of us deserve to see this again and we can't stand anymore without having it in DVD. Please make all pressure needed to have it in DVD immediately.

If you enjoyed the old Chips series on TV, then you'll enjoy this movie, if for no other reason than to see the old gang. The movie is pleasant enough, though the plot line is a little lame. I've seen worse....more info - Get ready for high speed action . . . CHiPs is back!!!
This movie is great as not only as a sequel to the series, but as a stand-alone movie itself. I was a fan of the series as a kid in the 70's & 80's, and with the introduction of new series' I gradually drifted away from CHiPs in syndication, but CHiPs '99 kind of whetted my apitite to revisit some of the old episodes and "rewatch them for the first time", and it's been a great ride all around....more info - Movie Of The Century!
"CHiPs" has got to be the best show of the seventies and eighties. No other show has motorcycle chases and awsome car wrecks like "CHiPs". You need to buy this video to re-experience the thrill. Erik Estrada is superb as always, he is "CHiPs". Great going Ponch!...more info - Cheesy....blahhhhhhh
I love CHiPs....of the late 70s and early 80s, but not this 99 video. It's very cheesy. You can't compare this to the series, no way except for the characters, except of course they got older and for the most part, they gained some weight. John Baker still looks the same, but he gained a bit weight too, but not as much as Erik Estrada, eeew, his face especially (Eyes...eeeeeeew) Too bad they don't have the original CHiPs on tape, now that would be better than this one. It had its moments, but I didn't get the same feel as I would with the original series...mayber perhaps Baker and Ponch were younger, and more fun to watch???Review:
Ponch comes back to temporarily help the CHP capture car jacking theives. John Baker, the captain, reunites with Ponch, and Ponch helps heal John's wounded pain of Ponch leaving the force and not inviting John to Ponch's wedding. Ponch explains to him the reason for the leave. Although, if you watched the series, at the end, it was Baker who left to ranch his family ranch in Colorado and Ponch stayed. Through the movie, they show a few short clips of the old series when Contraire (the captain in the old series, now commisioner)John, and Erik remembers the old days together. If you want to collect this just to have CHiPs, then go for it, I suggest though that you try to see if it's available at a movie rental place, ie blockbuster. If it's not available that way, try to buy it less than 6 bucks via online. I hope this helps....more info - Awesome Return
What else can I say beside wonderful! I used to be a big fan of the show as a kid and as an adult I just loved the new version. Great bikes, lots of action and Ponch at his best. This movie is a wonderful version of the old television series and if it came on tv again, I would watch it. There are some very good scenes. Who wouldn't love to see another movie like that? Jon had some trouble with his position as a Captain and the return of Ponch. It was hard for him to keep defending him. But hey, someone has to keep that guy in line. Loved the flashback bits and it was nice to see that Jon finally got married. Although I would have loved to see more of Sandy. And I loved the helicopter pilot Stormy. Very funny guy.Ponch comes up with some wacko ideas the entire movie, but the guy is rarely wrong. You got to give him credit for that. He knows no rules, but would you want someone else to watch your back? The music was great. I think of of my favorite scenes was on Judge Judy. It had me laughing out loud. Very well done and great acting job. When Johnny Cochran came on, I was really grinning. LOL What about those guys aging? Okay, maybe Eric turned grey, but he has lost nothing of his charm. And it's too bad we don't see more of Larry Wilcox these days. They guy is still a terrific actor and you don't notice he has aged almost twenty years. I would recommend this movie to everyone who used to watch the show. It's an action packed movie, with terrific personal moment. In my eyes, you have everything. Action, adventure, emotion and humor. It was really cool to see Jon & Ponch back in action. The story is pretty good with only a few flashback sequences to the original series. Picture and sound quality is good and all we need now is all the original episodes (plus CHiP's 99) on DVD.P.S. When shown on Sky Digital TV in Europe (Fox), their EPG data claims that Jon & Ponch are two Chicago police officers!...more info - Best Chips Show

Great low budget movie. I've been a Chips fan ever since i was a little kid growing up in the 80's. I used to watch it with my father. I'm only 30 years old and i still watch the shows reruns on my dvd set. I used to watch the reruns also on tnt back in the late 90s. Anyway about the movie it brings back the characters from the show. You get to see them years later. The movie is about some car thieves. I'am a big fan of 'CHiPs' and I think that this movie is really great but I really think that since this is a great come back I wish that this movie to be released on DVD.
Also I HOPE THAT ALL THE SEASONS FROM THE TV SHOW TO BE RELEASED BECAUSE I THINK THAT WE WAITED TO LONG AND NOW IT IS TIME TO HAVE THE CHANCE TO SEE THEM ON DVD, PLEASE. For the 25 years I have spent on this planet, I would have to say I spent 22 of them glued to "CHiPs". The chemistry betwen Frank Poncherello and Jon Baker is electric. "CHiPs" 99 is the same formula of the past set to current times. I myself was shocked to see officer Baker take the place of the legendary Srg. Gatrare. As far as Ponch goes, what can I say he's still Ponch. As soon as Ponch and Jon reunite the magic is back. The pyro stunts "CHiPs" was known for are better than ever. True "CHiPs" lovers are going to flip over the cameos of past "CHiPs" stars Bonnie, Baricsa, Fritz, Harlin, Captin Gatrare , and of course Grossman. The icing on the cake is the blockbuster Ponch lays on everybody at the end....more info - Chips 99

Although it's not as good as the TV series, that was back in the 70s. Now, we're in the 90's and things have changed. So in comparison, it's just as good. if not better. i think Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada did a terrific job. They should start again with another TV series close to the one in the late 70's, early 80's....more info
