just thought u guys shhould know not to listen to steve sure this album sucks but their early work is not metallic at all, and this sounds nothing like GBH, this pop-ified hard rock punk stay away from this and GBH is not know for being pioneers of crossover, their stuff is early simple hardcore punk, he's an ass...more info - really, not too good
some bands just aren't meant to make new albums...or if they are, just aren't ready enough. this album is just decent. better than the new adolescents, but not by much. the major problem with these older bands making new albums is that half of them go soft..i mean surely enough, there are bands like The Damned, TSOL, Bad Religion, and 7 Seconds that release quality albums past their prime, but some just cannot do it.
after trying to see if this would grow on me, i have come to a simple conslusion...stick with their older stuff. i have only heard leather studs bristles and acne, city baby series, midnight madness, and no need to panic. they are some of the best punk rock i have heard. this is borderline rancid! i do like rancid, but for a cd entitled GBH? no way jose!...more info - This album is a little different from the other 9 studio recordings
GBH is best known for the Heavy metalish punk. you could say they were one of the first bands to combine metal and punk together. Still around and went through 4 different drummers (many think there were 3, but there was actually 4, one of them only drummed for 1 album and it was Church of the Truly Warped.) GBH had another drummer named Scott Pierce. his drumming for Punk Junkies was good. it was fast and metalish. anyway, this album has kind of lost that special heavy metal punk sound. their are a few good songs (like I want to Believe, Crush em, Punk Rock Ambulance), but it actually sounds like the same stuff from the newer Adolescents album (OC Confidental). I am a huge GBH fan and I actually wanted to get all 10 (that's right, I also consider Leather Bristles Studs and Acne a studio album because it was longer than a EP but shorter than a LP and it was the first album they ever done, a little bit before City Baby Attacked by Rats) albums. The one good thing that I like about GBH over The Exploited (like them as well) is that if they have a album that isn't legendary or great, it still has a few catchy and great songs from it. The Exploited's Let's Start a War had a few good songs but that is my least favorite of them all. plus the names of the songs were very oddly named (should we can't we is a good example of one of their songs from that album). If you are a GBH fan or want a GBH album but your just starting, this isn't quite a good place to start. Get both City Baby Albums, A fridge too far (which is kind of hard to find), from here to reality (that too), and Punk Junkies. any of those would be a great start for a new GBH fan. for the rest, get it if you really want to hear newer stuff from them....more info - Pure Punk Rock
This is a pure Punk Rock CD. Rippin' guitar, funky-ass bass lines and howling lyrics. It's what made GBH a punk icon in the 1980's. This is definitley a must own cd for any "true" punk fan, and for you posers, ...well...you might as well get your own copy too. (HAHA)...more info - Supercharged
G.B.H. with 17 new kick [butt] songs. From the hardcore Falling Down to the melotic crush 'em and the desire of poverty. This album is great from start to finish. I got this at there show last week and I haven't stoped listening to it since then. If you are new to G.B.H. this would not be a bad album to start with also check out diplomatic immunity for kick [butt] english punk rock....more info
