The reason you should read this book specifically, instead of any other various dating advice books, is that he offers a solution to the dilemma of how to approach women in the first place. Approaching women is a catch 22 which, until now, nobody has been able to solve in any sort of consistent way. Basically, if you approach a woman, she will know you are hitting on her simply by the fact that you approached her, and she will make a very fast judgement - does she want you to hit on her? Knowing nothing of you except your appearance and the fact that you need something from her, she is very biased against you, and she will shut you down simply BECAUSE you approached her. Yet, if you don't approach her, how will you ever meet?
The only truly groundbreaking thing about this book, is Mystery's solution to this dilemma. It is two step. First, basically trick her into thinking that you are not hitting on her. This is difficult to do, since your approach alone gives you away, but he teaches you several strategies that reassure her that you don't want her. Thus reassured, she will be much more relaxed and open to interacting with you. Then second, demonstrate your value. Do little things during this first interaction that show her what you are worth. By the time your interaction with her and her group is finished, she will have a much more favorable impression of you than a more direct approach, and by now she will want you to hit on her. In fact, she may hit on you first.
This book provides a lot of generally good information beyond the opener. It is very concise - tons of information is packed into a very short book, in the simplest and most straightforward way possible. It is easy to read and easy to understand. It also does more than tell you what works, but it tells you why it works by giving you a mini lesson in evolutionary psychology, and in the forces that program us to seek certain things in a partner. This is important because until you understand why certain things work, you can't customize your approach and move beyond canned lines and scripts written by someone else.
However, many books offer lessons in evolutionary psychology and social dynamics. Although this one does a good job of it, the only thing that this book offers that sets it apart from the rest, is a very simple and systematic method to get around a woman's defenses during the initial approach. An amusing book about picking up women. unlike many others, it is terse, instruction oriented, and not misogynistic. if you feel a need to read one, read this one. It will lay out very interesting views of social interactions and step by step ways to show you are the one worth hanging out with. I found it a very useful book to think about social dynamics in clubs and in general, and it does so in a way that is goal oriented and not antagonistic. Exceptional social pick up advice for flirting, improving your presence, attitude and conversation to attract the ladies. It almost reads like a psychology journal that you would find in a liberal arts college. It takes a few readings, but his mindset on the subject matter is about the best you can find for picking up women. The only downside is a mild one; it's sort of a one size fits all book, mostly tailored for young clubbers. There's an additional guide that dissects all the personalities and is full of really funny observation humor about the whole dating game.

This book doesnt go into story telling or scenarios as The Game does which I love for the simple reason that It spells out the rules for you. Instead of having to extract the necessary information to learn from Neil Strauss exploits it tells you that the rule is that or never do this, etc. For this reason its a great starting point because in order to do some such as riding a bike you must first know the process and the steps in that process. This book outlines the steps in the process to picking up women you dont know and getting sex with them. Finished to end the process doesnt take more than 8 hours!
I haven't read the Game yet but other reviewers were recommending that you read that first. I disagree. I've read the first few pages of The Game and its a living example book. I'm going to read The Game next after I finish up the last few pages of this book. It makes no sense to look at examples before you look at the problem in detail and the steps to solving it. Thats backwards. Read this book and then read The Game.
As for my rating, I give it 5 stars because it is instructional and authoritative. It is not weighed down with a lot of examples and dialogue. This is turn makes it a light and quick read. It uses a lot of interesting terminology that really aptly describes various components to the process. Everything that the author writes about is field tested on THOUSANDS of women and thus gives him all the credibilty in the world. Plus everything he mentions in the book you know to one level or another subconsciously but he is great about drawing your attention to it so that you can focus on it in the setting. A great book to learn to methods of talking to women and over coming anxiety. Although, this book focuses on talking to women, it is definitly applicable and can be applied to any social situation invoving both genders. I've watched the show, I've read the book... nothing useful in the practicality of my location. I even took the time to challenge Mystery or any of his "masters" to come out to my part of the world here in nowhere, FL where everyone knows evryone else. If you are not in a clique, you get nowhere. I even play in a very popular local band and it has no sway with the women. it used mean something back in NJ where I was born and raised. There is a completely different lifestyle here and no matter what I do, I will always have to be simply myself. And after seven years of being here I've had many dayes, but I am so different in almost everyway from these rednecks here, I have not one thing besides music I can talk about. For example - I think NASCAR is stupid, they all love it it here. I enjoy pro sports, they don't even know anything about any pro team including the ones from FL. Many, many more differences, so now that I own this home, can't move due to the real estate market being in the toilet, I just have given up and the best thing I can say is that I'm saving a ton of money by not wasting it on drinks, food, or presents during birthdays and holidays. So to sum this all up - Mystery's method (in my humble opinion) will ONLY work if you are in a city environment where there are tons of people, lots of different places to go, and have lots of free time to go and hang out at all of these places to hone your "skills". Oh yeah, did anyone know it's a HUGE negative mark against you if you do not drink, smoke, or not have any trendy hair or tattoos as is my lifstyle??? I have taken college courses and I have a degree in applied physics and I have programmed for Dortune 500 companies but this really blows me away. In fact I wonder if he knew that most of this information would be beyond the understanding of most of his reading population.

This book is absolutely great. It takes the chaos of attempting to meet women and breaks it down into a science. While I believe this book has some excellent tips, I also believe very few men are going to want to put them into practice. Quite frankly, it's just too much work! The mystery method is a full-time job, and most of us already have those. My next concern would be: how do you keep these beautiful women you worked your butt off to get into bed? This was a good book-- well-written. I wish the author had talked more about "high quality" women, rather than just how to get someone to have sex. You get what you pay for. The book explains everything you need to know, but lets face it, people are typically paying 3 grand for in-field bootcamps with puas, and 5 - 7 grand for the same type of thing with Mystery, Matador, Lovedrop and J-Dog. Why? Because 1 per 100,000 is the number of guys who'll follow the book to the letter, and actually master the stuff on their own. Also, without seeing it performed live people naturally miscalibrate, get discouraged, and give up. A great book to be read along side "The Game" by Neil Strauss. It has many tips, written in a very lyrical manner that may seem to justify what every lonely man may want in life. But, it is only a method and the only guarantee that the book makes involves months of practice, which in turn is months of failure. To think that one can simply read this book and immediately become a mPUA (Master Pick up Artist) or "Venusian Artist" is surely a goal that will not be reached. One must first know what he is getting himself into, but it is in my opinion that Mystery is the best in the business, he teaches not to manipulate women (like Ross Jeffries) but to show a side of yourselves which an interesting, innovative, fun, and charismatic side that women will prefer over the lonely and miserable side. The book is not simply about getting women into bed, it is a self help book that makes you look to improve every aspect of your life; in turn will attract more women down the line.

"Love drop", "Mystery", and Neil Strauss have really done something quiet creative to make money.
They have started a new genre of "how-to book's" that are targeting sex deprived men. GENIUS. After reading this entire book and reading Strauss' The Game I have finally been able to come to some conclusions. Most of the information in this book is "misinformation". A collection of jargon that has been taken from many different areas of science, chewed up, and regurgitated to some how apply back to women. Since they have read books like The Selfish Gene, Red Queen, and Sperm Wars they think they now have their doctorite degree's in social psychology and behavioral sciences. Are these guys for real?
I will say some of the stuff is very interesting and does make sense, however it is not really necessary. As someone who needed improvement with women at one point myself I can say that this stuff is way over the top and the views of the author's are a little twisted and off. It's almost as if the author's are out to prey on women and people in general, which they are judging by their business.
I will say that reading this book will help someone out who is really challenged, but by all means, do not follow every word in this book. It will help you out getting a quick score from the drunk girl at the bar, but it will actually hold you back in trying to establish relationships with quality women.
These guys have mastered the art of deception both in supposedly attracting women, and selling books.
I would say the reason this book has four stars is because the authors have seduced their audience into believing in the "misinformation". At least that is the only way I can explain it.

If you're looking for a natural approach to meeting women that really works, you should get The Zen of Meeting Women. It's by far the best in that genre. But if you want a more canned material approach, then this is about as thorough an approach as you'll find. At times dry and formulaic, there is no arguing with results, and Mystery gets them. Does that mean his approach will work for you? Like I said. If you're not comfortable learning "routines" and would rather do things more naturally, get the Zen book. When I started reading through the books written by men about how to score with women, I realized that everything I was taught growing up about girls and boys was horribly wrong. We're not the same. We think in completely different terms. At first in our schools and then as we get into businesses, we're conditioned to see everyone as the same and hold them to the same standards of conduct.
We are wrong.
Women are completely different. And men are totally at a loss about how to deal with them. Even though most women will say they just want a Nice Guy, they will--if they ever settle for one--set out to thoroughly destroy him. I know. I was one of them.
Rather than go to the Dark Side and join the legions of selfish man-childs out there seeking only the sleaziest of pleasures, I decided to study up on the literature of dating from the male point of view. I'm finding out that just about everything I've ever done was WRONG. Sure, it was everything a Nice Guy should do, but it ended in disaster every time.
Having just finished THE MYSTERY METHOD, I can add a few more insights into my thinking--but not many. This book is primarily a text book for picking up women so it focuses on a detailed process for meeting and mating with women between the 6's and 10's (the author doesn't concern himself with any woman under 6 on that scale). It's relatively dry and devoid of humor (how can anyone take this absurd process so seriously, you might wonder) but it makes good sense.
(The book I read before this one, THE PROFESSIONAL BACHELOR, was rife with typos but injected some humor into the advice...before suggesting which country to visit to buy scores of women for pure debauchery).

First, I want to give major props to the author for devoting years of his life on the subject of dating and seduction. Mystery is extremely intelligent and has literally broken down seduction into a science. The book is very organized and Mystery is a decent writer. He breaks down the different stages of seduction (There are nine of them) in amazing detail, from the time a man meets a woman to the time he has sex with her. One thing I found amazing was how predictable human behavior really is. It's fascinating to me that most humans react very similarly to certain stimuli. You can tell by reading this book that seduction to Mystery is like Bach playing a piano or Michelangelo doing a sculpture. It is an art form to him.
Having said all that, these methods are not necessary at all. I'm not saying they don't work, I'm saying that these methods make seduction much more difficult than it is or even has to be. It takes the fun and spontaneity out of seduction. My best advice on how to be effective at seduction:
1. Start talking to everybody. Get used to talking and interacting with people
2. Join an improv group. Seriously.
3. Start approaching women and expressing yourself.
I truly feel that just going up to a woman you are attracted to and expressing your sexual desire for her (While looking her in the eye) is a million times more effective than Mystery's method (Or any method). The problem with methods and techniques is they discourage men from putting their ego on the line. They protect men from getting rejected. Guess what men? You're going to get rejected. Get used to it. Stop using methods and learn to express your desires as a man. If you get rejected, don't take it personally. Keep going for it.

I have been a part time taxi driver for the past 8 years (I'm now nearly 30), and I have been in situation to hear every single story regarding the romance and sex from the mouths of thousands of girls as well as guys, whether they were talking to me, or whether they were talking to their friends on the phone or in the car.
Some of them were sober and some were drunk which only added to the fun as their tongues "unrolled" and the pure truth came out.
As a male I will tell you this guys:
Please, I say, PLEASE ignore all this angry stuff coming from these unhappy, I bet 99% in my experience, less than average looking or socially inexperienced girls who keep telling that women want nice guys!!! I have not found any evidence in the real world supporting this absolutely silly and unfortunately for nice guys funny statement, in my 8 years of giving rides to the couples ranging from every social background. It is the same as saying that guys want an overweight or an obese girl for seduction.
I do however agree that the girls WILL accept nice guys for a marriage material once their female physical attractiveness is long gone and have slim chance of catching a fun short time relationship with a good looking, charismatic and energetic guy. Once the females are "all spent", they will grab a "horse" that will go and break his back to bring the money home while their not so much prettier half anymore, will still pursue a hobby.
I have personally had totally sober women flirt and seductively smile at me in front of the eyes of their children and nice guy husbands. Believe this.
I've had in my taxi, guys who have been f****d over 2 or 3 times by chicks here in Australia, who deliberately get involved with guys working away in the bush/desert for a year after which the girls are entitled to one half of the property, making no difference whether the money/property was built before they got involved or not.
Talking about the tricks, less than 0.01% of girls are qualified to even start a thread about the same. I could write a book of its own just about what I have heard in the live "taxi confessions".
At the end, CHICKS ARE NOT AN ENEMY!!! It is just the way it is, a human nature and behavior. The world is still balanced at the end and everyone ends up with someone eventually.
If you want to get most out of it, learn every thing and trick that will help you, but use it for a good cause and not to mess someone over.
Remember, every time you are talking to a chick, or just even standing next to one, you are being scanned, analyzed, weighted, judged, measured,and generally evaluated.
Chicks will decide whether they want to get involved with you before you even open your mouth based on your body language. I have become somewhat advanced experienced in this and can read off their faces. Now, what does that tell you about girls wanting the nice guys???

Mystery specializes in teaching a certain technique that definitely works, but I didn't like the act.
I felt like I had to be someone else in order to be successful with his technique. Plus I feel that it was limited to a certain personality type that responds to his technique.
I don't want to be a pick up artist, I just want to meet women that I like. I had much more success with David Denagelo's Approaching Women and Starting Conversations DVD Program by David DeAngelo and Mr. L. Rx's Dating To Relating - From A To Z: (A Man's Guide To Understanding Women) techniques.

First The Game and now The Mystery Method. Both go very well together because The Game is a great story, but doesn't provide a lot of direct tips on how to create a similar lifestyle for yourself. The Mystery Method is not a story at all, but a straight-forward how-to seduction manual.
It's a good book, but I deduct a star because I think it's too complicated. Getting Beautiful Women Into Bed shouldn't require charts and an entirely new seduction vocabulary.
What I can say is that for most guys, if they really read the book and try to apply at least some of the teachings to their lives, they'll see some improvement. That's what a How-To book is meant to do and on that level, I'm very impressed how just a change in attitude and more focus on building attraction can make an impact in my dating life.
I also bought Secrets of the A Game: How to Meet and Attract Women Anywhere, Anyplace, Anytime at the same time based on the recommendation from Amazon. I think Mystery Method goes a little deeper into theory, which is important. The A Game is a bigger book, doesn't get quite as complicated, but was easier to read and incorporate into my life.

Bought this bought based on a friend who suggested it. This book has literally changed my life and how I view women. Whereas before I was completely clueless on what makes a women attracted to a man, now I am much more at ease about approaching women. You cannot just simply read and expect miracles to happen. Read it once, read it again, and again a few more times. You need to absorb this material and understand the larger points. Need deep inrospection. And above all you need to have an open mind, and PRACTICE. You can read all you want, but without practice, this will not work. Go out in the club/bar and just talk to girls. I enjoyed this book, but I must say with the advent of Mystery's VHI show, this strategy and the lines are in danger of becoming overused. I like watching "The Pick-Up Artist" to root for the geeks. I wondered if I would ever encounter anyone trying out Mystery's techniques. I felt like I was in one of those camera-ed up clubs when a man came up to me and laid on the lines. I responded by asking if he by chance likes to watch "The Pick-Up Artist". Of course he denied it and "had to get back to his friends". Oh man, I read the book and this book has truly opened my eyes. I mean, it just doesn't tell you how to pick up girls using the Mystery Method, but it also breaks down the dynamics behind girls and how they operate socially. I mean, it makes sense of the mystery that is women (at least for us men). It helps a lot just by doing that, but it also shows you how to approach women and interact with them. Yes, all this actually works. When I first read this book, I thought this was a whole bunch of crap, but when you get into it, it all makes sense, especially since Mystery (the author) breaks it down so well. I actually tried it out with many girls I know and don't know, and the results never cease to amaze me. I tried with this girl that seemed like a slam dunk with her saying she was interested in me, asked if I had a girlfriend, etc. Somehow, when I asked her out on a date, she kinda blew me off. Since nothing I was doing was working, I used the Mystery Method on her since I figured I had nothing to lose. I thought I was hallucinating for a moment because I never thought it would actually work so well, and she wasn't acting. I never had a girl fall for me so hard like that. She kept returning my calls and continue to express interest in me afterwards. The rest is history, and I continue to use it on all types of women (even those that acted like jerks to me, and I always find it hilarious how quickly they turn around) and it's amazing how literally no woman is beyond reach with PRACTICE and EXPERIENCE. This book can be considered a "beginner's" manual, because there more advanced techniques out there. However, this will work for anyone that is unaware of the Venutian Arts/Art of Seduction. I still have a lot to learn and test, but I already accomplished more in these past few months than I have these past 9-10 years.
Note: This is not easy by any means. It will test you physically and mentally and you MUST know and practice the material or it WILL NOT work. The Mystery Method is an interesting book. It is suppose to help men get the attention of attractive women. The main idea behind the book is good and it is an interesting read. The book does give you different ideas of how to approach women and different methods to "get her attention".
After reading the book I tried some of the ideas and as usual some worked and some did not. The book overall is a good read but it is just that, a book. Do not buy it if you are going to follow it step by step. Just make sure that when you try the "mystery method" you have confidence in what you are doing not just going through the motions of the book. The book can only teach you so much but the thing that worked was the confidence boost I had in myself and a couple of ideas from the book. ...more info
