Customer Reviews:

  • Great Product
I own a BlackBerry Storm and decided to buy some Bluetooh headphones since the phone is compatible. I shopped around and decided on this product because all Sony products I've had in the past were of high quality and this was a reasonable price. I could not be more happy with my decision. The audio quality is superb and the range seems pretty good to me (I don't have much to compare it too though). One of the reasons I chose this product over other is the fact that you can change the earbuds that you use, but I must say the ones that are supplied are very comfortable and provide good sound - the only time I don't use them is if I decide to plug my stereo speakers into the DS220. I believe this product deserves 5 stars, and my only real criticism is that the batter life could be a bit better, but it lasts me a solid 2+ days of commuting which is fine....more info
  • not real happy
I wanted a new headset that I can use while riding my bike to work. figured since I have a sony phone I should get a sony headset. the main function I use on the bike is the voice commands. that is the only function I can not get to work with my phone. my cheap Scala works great with voice but I cant wear with the helmet. The stereo sony headset sounds great with the MP3 player my phone has however. ...more info
  • Great for what it does
I use this headset with an HTC Touch Diamond. The pairing was easy, it paired automatically without the need to enter a code. Sound quality is great, I like and use Sony ear buds though some times I switch them out with my Bose or Sure ear buds. I have not experienced any issues with either the phone or music functions supported. Sound quality is excellent with any of the headphones used. There is on function that is not supported that now that I don't have it, I find essential. You are not able to change songs (skip ahead or back,) with the bluetooth headset. You need to do this on the host device (in my case, my Touch Diamond.) I personally not buy this headset again when it needs replacing, but if you do not need this feature, it works as advertised....more info
  • Sony Ericsson HBH-DS220 Bluetooth Streaming Headset with A2DP (with HPM-70 headphones)
Not true. When paired with an HTC Tytn II, the volume is controlled by holding down the 'play/pause' button on the side. Granted, this unit isn't very full featured, but the build & sound quality is very nice. The only major difference that I've noticed is that the volume isn't quite as loud as when the head phones are directly plugged into the device. As far as I know, this is the only branded stereo Bluetooth device that allows you to plug ANY 3.5mm headphones into it making it infinitely more useful when you've destroyed your headphones for day to day usage....more info
  • I'm happy except for few issues
This product says A2DP, but when I connect to Laptop from Cellphone, I had to do the pairing everytime again and again, similarly changing from Cellphone to Laptop. My understanding was that, A2DP feature is supposedly let you connect many devices (at least 2) without going through the pairing...

And No Volume Button, and Volume is not quiet high... I wish the volume level is little more higher...

Otherthan that, its very good. I would give B- . 3.5 out of 5....more info
  • Pretty good so far...
Like most products the Sony HBH-DS200 has it's limitations. Special thanks for the other reviewer who highlighted the volume control function (hold down the play/pause button). Other than that the audio quality is spot on. I don't notice any degradation. I do notice a slight latency problem when watching video but it's not too bad. I'm using mine with the Sony Bluetooth Wireless iPod adapter on my iPhone. Being as the iPhone doesn't support bluetooth playback in iPod mode. When using the HBH-DS200 with the phone itself it works pretty well. I do end up having to unpair and pair the headset to go from the ipod adapter to the phone. This gets a little tedious. I do like the fact that you can use whatever headphones you want. I have some nice noisecanceling ear buds that work really well with the bluetooth headset. All in all it does what it says in a nice compact unit. You don't even notice it when you're wearing it....more info
  • Perfectly Portable
Excellent and elegant gadget. Works perfectly with my LG Voyager. The sound quality is amazing due too the DSP (digital sound processing) built into the system (which I can't seem to find any other brand that has that). It's actually so clear that I can tell which MP3s i use are of a low quality. You can control the volume with either the headset or your phone (depending on what phone you have). The max volume of the headset is much louder then the max volume if you just use a regular extension out of the phone. The headset uses bluetooth 2.0 which my Voyager only has 1.2 and it works fine. Supposedly if you have a bluetooth 2.0 capable device the sound is even better, which is surprising because the quality seems almost perfect already. The microphone is clear, if not too clear and can pick up back ground noise such as if your air is fully on in your car. The Sony website says that the headset will even automatically adjust the volume of the headset if you walk into loud environment so you can hear it better, and will do so in less than a second. I haven't noticed that happening, but i also haven't ever had a problem hearing the volume even in a loud area, so maybe it is working, and working seamlessly like they describe. Finally you can't beat being able to use whatever head phone you want for the occasion. You can even hook it up to your stereo if you have the right set of connectors. Overall great product, worth every penny....more info
  • good product, bad service
    good product.

I found it on sony ericsson's website when I was looking up a phone to get soon, which btw, I should get within the next month. It was simple enough getting this to work with my cirago micro bluetooth adapter, which is a GREAT product, and I'm fairly sure that It will work incredibly simply with my phone, so that is good. I found 4 different ways to use it so if you add that up, that's $90 - $30 for the earphone quality, take the $60 you have left and divide it by 4. that's technically $15 for each use, and I'm very satisfied with that.

    However,
    Amazon was a hassle.
they shipped my order in two pieces without telling me very clearly and made me pay extra shipping which was totally not worth it. Then, the other product I ordered was not the one pictured, and to top it off, i've noticed the scams that they've been putting up about prices, which really angers me. a totally bad experience, the only reason I ordered from amazon was to save on shipping, b/c the products were cheaper elsewhere, but I had to pay 2 different shipping prices, but I still have to now... And now, I have to pay extra shipping to ship back the wrong product.

all in all, it was too much of a hassle. I hope that if you order something here that you have better luck than I....more info
  • Works, mostly
It tends to skip when you use it for the first few minutes (at least mine does). I mainly use it to play music, and I notice that when I turn off one of either phone or headset, and I turn it back on it probably will skip. To resolve this I turn both of them off, or at least first turn of both BTs then back up again. I haven't used the A2DP yet with my laptop. Probably because I need to change drivers, or maybe because of an incompatibility issue with my laptop BT. I haven't really tried, but it does not work yet with my HP TX2000 vista machine. Early research mentioned that BT devices must be compatible with the BT software....more info
  • Not worth it...
The worst 80.00 i ever spent. The transmitter connects without a problem and its got nice sound but the only issue is the volume, only buttons it has are the power, play/stop button and bluetooth pairing. I tried connecting it to a headphone amplifier but no luck, i tried opening it up and going directly to the source but found out it was poorly made. ...more info
