Customer Reviews:- Another Good Indiana Jones Film!
This movie was every bit as goos as "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Harrison Ford is very good in his role as Indiana Jones. The film is improved by the addition of Sean Connery in the role of Indiana Jones's father. This time Indiana and the Nazis are trying to find the Holy Grail. In this search you have excellent action shots. The scenery in this movie is outstanding as well. Jones manages to get out of several tight spots in his search for the Holy Grail. The ending of this movie is the idea way to finish a film. Buy this film. You will be well pleased with your purchase. This is a classic....more info - The BEST of the Indiana Jones series!
This is a wonderful action movie to watch. Harrison Ford-sama is Indiana Jones for the third time, in this action-packed epic, and Indy is joined by his father and firends Marcos Brody and Sallah, and the four of them are off to find the Holy Grail, before that nasty Hilter and nazi thugs get their hands on it first! The cast was greatly assmebled, the action sequances were blowouts, and the screenplay was what made this movie the best of the Indiana Jones series-but I must advise you to watch "Raiders of the lost Ark" first, so that you can get a brief intro to Marcos and Sallah. Don't miss one of Harrison Ford's best movies!!! Highly recommened!...more info - Most enjoyable movie ever
I enjoy watching this movie more than any other - every time it is on TV (which is quite often), I tune in. This is the most well-rounded of the movies of the trilogy - it has a lot of the action found in Raiders with better humor than the rather poor (compared to the other two) Temple of Doom. The father-son scenes between Ford and Connery are just outstanding - real chemistry there. I don't have a frickin clue why this isn't on DVD yet....more info - One of my favorite movies
I'm a sucker for adventure films. Iv'e seen them all: Mask of Zorro, LOTR, Sky Captain and The World Of Tomorrow, a whole bunch. But Iv'e rarely seen one I like as much as this one. Why? Because it's everything you'd want in an adventure film: action, laughs, and a great storyline. Although Iv'e seen the other two Indy films, I still think this is the best, because it has Sean Connery in it. It's impossible not to like Sean Connery. He's funny, he's handsome, and almost every movie he's in is a great action film. In this movie, Indiana and his father, played by Connery, set on a quest to find the Holy Grail before the Nazis use its power to take over the world. Lots of action and Connery saying funny things ensues....more info - Christmas gift for grandchildren,..It's a winner
My family throughly enjoyed this movie,..My grandchildren , now another generation that will love this series.......more info - My personal favorite!
The mere idea of teaming up Harrison Ford with Sean Connery is pure genius, and this superb action-adventure prooves it! In this final round (atleast until a few years from now; I've heard they're going to make another installment), Indi and his dad are off on a quest to reach the Holy Grail before the Nazis do! This is.....well, just look at my title!...more info - Easily my favorite of the Indiana Jones combo!
The third and more than likely the best of the Indiana Jones sage brings the archaeologist fighter hero full circle from the Palaces of the tropical jungles of India, back to the now Nazi controlled Germany and the deserts of the Middle East and is a return to the atmosphere of "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" but with a slightly more Apocalyptic feel. Sallah and Marcus Brody are also back after their absence from "The Temple of Doom". The adventure begins with a large Nazi band lead by the villain leader Walter Donovan captures Marcus Brody and is on a quest to find The Holy Grail in hope of gaining eternal life and immortality. This movie is probably the best of the three movies, although I might say that about "The Temple Of Doom" as I sometimes feel that it's a toss-up between these two movies in my opinion but I cannot deny that "The Last Crusade" has the most substance and the most fun of all of the three IJ movies while "Temple Of Doom" suffers a little bit from it's negative portrayal of India and it's people and I feel for these reasons, The Last Crusade is the better one in my opinion and easily the best of the three Indiana Jones movies and is Spielberg's crowning achievement in his entire directing career. Indiana Jones finds himself reuniting with his father Henry Jones Sr. (played by Sean Connery), and Henry Sr. vanished during his quest for finding the Holy Grail. At first when asked by Walter Donovan and Elsa Schneider to help acquire the cup of Jesus Indiana refuses, but he then reluctantly agrees when he finds out that the archaeologist who was missing was actually his father Henry Jones Sr, who he hadn't spoken to much in 20 years. Donovan is the leader of a Nazi band who is after the Cup of Jesus to use for their evil purpose of attaining the gift of eternal life. Indiana's longtime friend Marcus Brody is kidnapped by Nazi crusaders. Indy realizes that the Nazi's are planning to use the Grail to become immortal and Indy must stop them from gaining ahold on them but then, the Nazi soldiers who are after it have no idea of the Grails power and the possible consequences. The father-son relationship in this movie is probably the best father-son relationship that I've ever seen in any movie. Both Harrison Ford and Sean Connery steal the show with their roles. No other movie in my opinion shows such a great father-son relationship. There are a lot of funny lines in the movie especially with some occasional arguments between Indy and his dad and it's especially funny with Indy expressing his resentment of being called "Junior". I just wonder whatever happened with Indy's mother. Did she die or simply leave the family a long time ago? That's the only thing I think that was missing but oh well. Sean Connery does such a wonderful job in bringing out the character in Henry Jones Sr. Henry Jones Sr. and his son Indiana Jones make the best father-son action duo in any movie that I've ever seen and it shows that one is never too old to be a hero. I must say that Elsa was a great and charismatic character. I definitely prefer the evilness of her over the annoying cowardice of Willie from "The Temple of Doom" any day. Elsa, despite being evil, she shows a lot more strength, courage, and wisdom than Willie did which I thought was hard to detect in her. I would much rather see Indy face-off against a villain hottie than fall in love with a helpless damsel (Evil tone of voice comes in). The odd 'ally yet enemy at the same time' relationship between Indy and Elsa is great. Allison Doody did such a great job playing Elsa. I think that Elsa is almost as good as Marion Ravenwood from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and far better than the helpless Willie Scott from "Temple Of Doom". I'd rather see angry female villains or rebellious female characters any day over helpless damsels in action movies. This script I think is just about perfect and Spielberg outdid himself on the directing of the action sequences, and the intelligence, depth, and emotions are strong and crystal clear. The action sequences and the scenes throughout the movie are eye-popping and still captivate me even after watching this amazing movie countless times since the young tender age of 7 when this movie was new and they captivate me more now as I pay more attention to the action scenes. I think that the combination of awesome action scenes, funny lines, a fun and exciting atmosphere, and wonderful and intelligent storytelling all magnify each other and that is definitely the recipe for a modern day classic. The background music during some scenes is stunning as well. I can now say that "The Last Crusade" is the best of the Indiana Jones movies and was a great movie to close out the movie trilogy. It's just unfortunate that this was to be the last of the series but it was a great movie though to close out the trilogy and the legacy that these three marvelous have created continue to define action adventure movies to this very day. If there is a fourth IJ movie, it would be very difficult as the actor who played Brody is now sadly deceased. Perhaps what I think that there should be done is a spin-off of this trilogy being made involving a descendant of Jones in postmodern times like in the 2020s where that descendant would go on major action adventures in modern and futuristic times similar to what Indy went on but that was just an idea I came up with. Get all three of these movies, they're all awesome....more info - The finest adventure I've ever seen.
My opinion of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade could be deemed slightly biased. It is the first film I ever saw in theaters and it's also the first movie I purchased on video. I even own the same, worn-down, beat-up copy (and look upon it even more fondly than the widescreen edition, for sentimental reasons, of course). I think it's fair to say it's this movie that cemented my love of cinema, the high regard I hold for great escapism, which is sorely lacking from today's cinema; movies that should be fun now drag or bludgeon themselves with relentless awful scripts or MTV-style direction that turns relatively simple scenes into chaotic blurs. The Last Crusade may only be thirteen years old, but I think I can safely say they don't make them like they used to.The film stars, of course, Harrison Ford as Indy Jones, the archaeologist/adventurer who's on yet another quest, this time to find his father, who'd been searching for the Holy Grail. Said Dad is played by none other than Sean Connery, whose highly charismatic performance is quick to place this film above the others in the trilogy. The rest of the film focuses on this ongoing journey between father and son (eventually joined along by Sallah and Marcus Brody), complete with amazing action and stunt sequences, clever humor, and nasty (but fun) surprises. The script, by Jeffrey Boam, takes a few cues from Raiders of the Lost Ark, but actually improves upon that story by adding more characterization, particularly with origin of Indy himself. And as a whole, the story is more engrossing because there are more fun clues offered toward the location of the Holy Grail and, thus, more engaging little discoveries (love the "X marks the spot" scene). I'm quite certain, like with Raiders, the plot has a few holes, but they're fairly hard to notice, and I've seen the movie quite a few times, but maybe it's just my enjoyment of the film clouding that up, which I suppose speaks volumes in favor of Spielberg's direction and the performances. Given that action and adventure is the series' selling point, you can expect the thrills and wondrous delight of discovery delivered in spades. The action scenes are terrific (and matched well with John Williams' rousing, memorable score), the best being an excellent ten-minute setpiece on board (and in) a Nazi tank in a sensational chase sequence across the desert. The climax, complete with frightening booby traps, is a suspenseful venture into the unknown, which is the pinnacle adventure movies aspire to. Harrison Ford once again slides effortlessly into the role of Jones, delivering another first-rate turn. To some, the performance is a joke; to most, it's acting at its finest. But I think most everyone would agree nobody else could have fit the part half as well as Ford. It's his rapport with Connery that strikes that spark that separates this from 99% of the genre. They craft an uncannily touching, funny, and genuine bond unlike any duo in film history. You could call it a buddy picture, I suppose, but unlike any you've ever seen before. The Last Crusade is a knockout thrill ride, and I seriously doubt any action/adventure will ever surpass it....more info - Third Time's the Charm
"Raiders" is probably the best Indiana Jones, but "Crusade" is my personal favorite. Lucas and Spielberg regrouped after the underwhelming "Temple of Doom" (a little too violent and way too kiddish for Jones) to craft this action great. Chock full with more Nazis, rousing action sequences, and sarcastic, sometimes tounge-in-cheek humor and noticably more character development than the first two. And seriously, who better to play Indiana Jones' father than Sean Connery? He gives a hilarious, and yet, sophisticated performance that does not fail to make me laugh every time. The plot to the movie is Indiana goes on the hunt for his father, after he disappears while working on a project to recover the legendary Holy Grail, the cup of Christ, ect. Jones himself gets caught up in the intrigue, ending up helping his fathers assitant (Allison Doody) discover more clues to the grails' wherabouts. Indy eventually learns that his father was captured by Nazis, and that they are planning to make their armies immortal by using the grails' power. The movie then really picks up, with Indy and father on the run from a ruthless Nazi Colonel (Michael Byrne) on a mission to find the grail before the Nazis do. On the way, they are spectacular action sequences, including a tank chase scene through the desert, a boat chase through Venice and car chase through rural Germany. And with Spielberg behind the camera and his sharp eye for that perfect shot of Indy thrawting another Nazi, well, give me one valid reason not to watch time and again....more info - New Last Crusade Special Collector's Edition due out May 13th, 2008!
The details of new DVD editions of the three classic classic Indiana Jones movies with all-new special features have been announced. They'll be available separately for the first time on DVD, or as a set. They were previously only available on DVD as a set.
The new releases will coincide with the new movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which comes out on May 22nd. They'll have new special features designed to introduce new Indy fans to the old movies, as well as to introduce old fans to the new movie.
The Indiana Jones movies are George Lucas's recreation/update of the serialized adventures of the 1930s and '40s. Made in the '80s and set in the '30s, they feature Harrison Ford as a mild-mannered archeology professor who moonlights as an adventurous seeker of priceless antiquities. This takes him to exotic locations across the world, and gets him in some very tight spots of the kind that only a movie hero could get into, or out of. He invariably finds himself opposed by dangerous men with evil plans for the powerful objects only he has the skills to recover. There are elaborate set pieces with creepy critters, ancient traps, fights with weapons from bare hands to airplanes and tanks, and sometimes supernatural forces. Along the way Jones manages to have some romance too. Humor is a big part of the fun.
This is the third in the series, after Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It begins with a teenaged Indy trying unsuccessfully to save an artifact from thieves, during which we get background on his signature fedora, bull whip, fear of snakes and his father. Then we jump to 1938, when Indy learns his father, played by Sean Connery, has gone missing while searching for the Holy Grail, which the Nazis have designs on for world domination. Joining with a somewhat dim museum owner and the beautiful woman Indy's father had been working with, Indy has close calls in Venice, Austria, and Turkey as he closes in on the Grail and, in the end, bonds with dad.
This one returns to the lighter tone of Raiders, after the somewhat darker Temple of Doom, and perhaps exceeds Raiders in its emphasis on humor (though I still find Raiders funnier). It's fun to see Ford and Connery working together. As always there are very involved set pieces, including a tank battle, an intricate plot full of mystery and action, and some magic. And critters: this time thousands of rats.
If you don't want the whole set and don't want to wait until May, you could get a used copy of the old Last Crusade DVD (people sell them out of the sets). The difference is in the extra features. The bonuses from the old set are on their own disc, so what you get when you buy just the old Last Crusade DVD is pretty bare. The new release, on the other hand, has the following, all new:
-- "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: An Introduction" by director Steven Spielberg and creator/producer George Lucas
-- "The Women: The American Film Institute Tribute," in which the three Indiana Jones women (Karen Allen, Kate Capshaw and Alison Doody) reunite for a discussion
-- "Friends and Enemies," in which Spielberg, Lucas and Indiana Jones writers discuss how they created the original characters, and a look at new faces in the new movie
-- storyboards: the opening sequence
-- DVD galleries of illustrations, props, production stills and portraits, FX/Industrial Light and Magic stuff, and promotion/marketing materials
-- "Lego Indiana Jones," a demo and trailer for a game based on the trilogy
If you like a few extras, you'll probably prefer this new DVD, though maybe not enough to upgrade from the old one, or to wait until May. I like audio commentaries, myself, and since they're easy to produce and tend to bring out points not covered in other features, I subtract one star for a special edition without any, but I look forward to the rest. If you don't care about commentaries, this may be a five-star DVD for you.
There have been rumors of deleted scenes, but none are included.
Some will want to wait for a high-def release, which makes sense if you have the equipment or plan to get it. Many speculate that a Blu-ray release will come out for Christmas, but that's sheer guesswork.
There's also some speculation that an even better edition with all four movies will soon supersede this new DVD. They may bundle the four together, but I doubt that there will be a better edition of this movie soon, if ever, on standard DVD. Keep in mind that the previous set came out over four years ago, and if not for the new movie, that would probably be the only release during the decade of standard DVD. The next upgrade may be high-def only, and may not happen for a while.
If you do want the whole trilogy (highly recommended), the new release is here, the old set is here. If you want to pick up one of the others from the new set, the new edition of Raiders of the Lost Ark is here, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom here....more info - Raiders of the Lost Ark Lite
After the dark and violent "Indiana Jones and the Temple Doom", the second sequel to "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is an amiable adventure lark. Set in 1938, archeologist-adventurer Indiana Jones is informed by a wealthy patron (Julian Glover) that his estranged historian father (Sean Connery) has disappeared while on the trail of the legendary Holy Grail. Joined by his father's sultry Austrian assistant (Alison Doody) and his colleague Marcus Brody (Denholm Elliot), Indy searches for his father and the Grail and once again finds himself battling the Nazis. John Rhys-Davies also returns as Indy's Arab friend Sallah, and the late River Phoenix plays a young Indy in a clever opening sequence. Definitely the least intense of the series, "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" leans more towards comedy and sentimentality. Ford has great chemistry with the ideally cast Connery, and its fun seeing Elliot and Rhys-Davies from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" again. But in many ways "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" seems like a watered down version of "Raiders of the Lost Ark". With the exception of a terrific tank chase, the action sequences are less elaborate than the those from the first two films. "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" is not as emotionally stirring as those films either, but is still a pleasant, entertaining romp....more info - this is a great movie!
sunday may 24th 2009 will be the 20th anniversary of the release of indiana jones and the last crusade.i was fortunate to see this movie openeing evening with my mom and my grandpa(my dad had to work that night).to this day one of the greatest movies ever made.what makes this movie great is the characters and the story.harrison ford plays indy as a mans man not a weak babling dweeb as so many men are presented in movies and tv today.he plays indy as a smart, tough, but decent man who would do any thing for his family and friends.he also loves his country and the reast of the world by trying to stop the most dangerous man made evil the world has ever faced the nazis from getting their evil hands on one of the most holy relics in the world the holy grail.this is a great story of good vs. evil which in my opinion is lacking in a lot of todays films.the film takes you all over the world from the united states ,to italy,to germany where indy comes face to face with hitler his evil self,to cairo,to petra just to name a few.sallah one of my favorite movie characters is back from raiders of the lost ark as well as marcus brody and sean connery's performance as henry jones sr. is one of the best movie performances ever.ever since that night 20 years ago i have really liked this movie a lot.the thing that really makes this movie special to me is that my grandpa was with me and my mom that night we saw this movie and he liked the movie.we lost hom almost 5 years ago cancer and i love him so much to this day and for ever.i look back at that night every time i even hear the movie mentioned and i think of him.i know he was with us then when went that evening to cinamas west movie theatre in gainesville

This has to be by far the best out of all 4 of the Indiana Jones movies. Lots of action scenes, and actually has some pretty funny scenes, with Indy constantly arguing with his father. Harrison Ford, and Sean Connery both did a great job with their acting....more info - Indy is back
In this the 3rd of the Indiana Jones trilogy, we again meet Indy(Ford) back at the university, when he recieves a strange notebook in the mail from his father(Connery), and he is contacted by the dubious buisnessman Walter Donovan(Glover), he decides to go to Venice, Italy to find his disapeared father along with his confused friend Marcus Brody(Elliot). Here he meets his fathers associated Dr. Elsa Schneider(Doody), as they delver further in to the mystery of his fathers disapearance and the Holy Grail, they find that they are opposed by several groups, and once again Indiana Jones finds himself battling nazis as he tries to get to the grail before them, and in the process getting Adolf Hitlers autograph(even though Adolf seem to misspell his name in the movie). The movie reminds alot of the mood that was created in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Connery is perfect in the role as Henry Jones, sr. and the whole movie seems to be in perfect balance keeping you at the edge of your seat all the time, but still giving you time to calm down....more info - DVD appears to play well; delivery was quick
This item was for my husband. He has already enjoyed it a couple times since we received it. No complaints heard from him, so must be OK....more info - "I Told You - Don't Call Me Junior."
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is just back from retrieving the Cross of Coronado (a quest he's been on for years) when he gets the news. His father (Sean Connery) has picked up the trail of the Holy Grail, a quest he's been on for years. Unfortunately, Dr. Jones Senior has vanished. So Indiana sets out for Venice to find his father.
Once there, he realizes he and his father are in a race for time with the Nazis to find this holy relic. The Nazis want to use it to create an army of invincible soldiers since the cup is rumored to create eternal life from those who drink of it. The problem? The Nazis have key pieces of research the two need to locate and retrieve it. Can they find it first? Will they make it out of this adventure alive?
This movie is lighter in tone, much more like the first one then the second one. In fact, I'd say it is the lightest of all three of them with fewer gruesome images then the first two. (No, that doesn't mean this is for the squeamish, however.) The acting is good, especially the chemistry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery. They look like they are having fun together on screen. The story is clever and keeps you engaged with actions and plenty of laughs along the way. I did feel the action got repetitive in the middle, however. That's pretty much my only complaint.
This movie is really nothing more then a mindless action film. But it's very good at it. If you are looking to be entertained, this movie will do it....more info - A Great Movie Worthy of The Jones Name
"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" is a rollercoaster ride of a movie. More comedic than the other films, "Last Crusade" is a great conclusion to the trilogy. The film brings back the Nazis, this time searching for the Holy Grail. My favorite scene is the tank chase. The film is a perfect pairing between Sean Connery and Harrison Ford. DO NOT BUY THIS VIDEO - BUY THE TRILOGY!!!...more info - Liked The Byplay Between Father & Son
Harrison Ford ("Indiana Jones") and Sean Connery make an excellent team. Connery plays Jones' father. The two banter back-and-forth the whole movie and are fun to hear.
I'm not familiar with the female lead, Alison Doody, but she made an attractive blonde German. Of note, River Phoenix plays a teenage Jones in the beginning of the film.
The story, like the other Indiana Jones films, is loud, especially with the soundtrack. The music, at times, almost drowns out some of the dialog. The action is almost but not quite too much except for the tank scene, which goes on too long. In all, it's a fine addition to the two other earlier Indiana Jones films....more info - Action Packed
I don't usually care for action movies, but this one was quite good. There's a chase scene or a fight scene every couple of minutes, and the film does a pretty good job of keeping things interesting without tossing in tons of irrelevant martial arts material (i.e. the Matrix).
What ties the action together is Indiana's quest to find his father and stop the Nazis from getting the legendary holy grail. Lots of secretive-type stuff goes on, which is always cool. I did have a little bit of trouble with some of the continuity of the plot at one or two points, but I found this slight obstacle easy to overlook.
Every now and then there's some comic relief, mostly brought about by Sean Connery of all people. Since he's pretty old in this movie, he doesn't contribute much to the action. That's left up to Harrison Ford, who does a great job of making you believe that archaeology professors are the toughest son-of-a-guns on earth.
The type of action you can expect to see involves motocycle riding, fist-fights on moving tanks, boat chases, trespassing through old castles, exploding airplanes, tomb exploration, and plenty of guns of course. The film makers packed it all in. Very few dull moments, and surprisingly little philosophy for something with religious subject matter in the plot.
I enjoyed this movie because it's not too gross, and it's not filled with unnecessary cussing, like tons of other action films out there. I think it's something most everybody can enjoy. It's my favorite Indiana Jones film, and beats the heck out of the Temple of Doom. Highly watchable, even if it's the only Indiana Jones movie you ever see....more info - Dr. Jones
Indi is not only a good friend of mine but my hero... All of his movies are action packed adventures, wether he is narrowly dodging poisoned arrows or bieng chopped up into fish bait. The trilogy is a must see....more info - The Searh for the Holy Grail
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade brings together Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) with his father Mr. Jones Senior (Sean Connery)
The movie begins in Utah in 1912, with a young Indiana Jones (River Phoenix) being pursued by a gang of rogues, who want the antiquity he has just nabbed from them, as Indy believes that the treasure should be in a museum, and not as their personal possession.
Shooting forward to 1938, Indiana Jones is pressed into an adventure to find the fabled Holy Grail, which was sought by King Arthur's Knights of Camelot, among others.
Lots of exciting action takes Indy and his father from Venice to Nazi occupied Austria to Turkey, pitting him against
evil Nazis, and including a beautiful lady archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider (Alison Doody), whose greed tragically causes her to fall in with the bad guys.
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade is far superior to the disappointing Temple of Doom, and as good as the first Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark

...more info - Indiana is back, and this time he's brought his dad along!
"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" is what I think the best of the three Indiana Jones movie. And one of the most important reasons for this conclusion is not just that it has Harrison Ford doing absolutely great, it has legendary actor Sean Connery as Indy's dad.Harrison Ford is Dr. Henry 'Indiana' Jones, Jr. When he is asked by Walter Donovan (Julian Glover) to help go in search of the mystical Holy Grail since one of his main archaeologist has disappeared, he refuses. But when Indy is told that the missing man is his father, Professor Henry Jones, Sr., (whom he has rarely spoken to in 20 years), Indy, along with the help of friend Marcus Brody (Denholm Elliott) and Dr. Elsa Schneider (Alison Doody), try to rescue his father from... who? Can it be the mysterious men who are trying to stop him from finding the Holy Grail? Or is there more to just finding his father and the Holy Grail than meets the eye? Indiana discovers that you can't trust anybody when dealing with power seeking men who want to use the cup of Jesus for evil. The best Indiana Jones movie AND action/adventure movie!! And the script and plot is just perfect, with plenty of lines which are just so funny! The first part where they have 'young Indiana Jones' played by River Phoenix was lots of fun, too. I like it where the explained some things like how Indy got his famous hat. "Everyone's lost but me..." My favorite parts are when Indy 'rescues' his dad but instead has to escape from the bad guys when he is caught himself and whenever Indy and Dr. Jones are arguing. One thing though is that I didn't think much of Alison Doody as Elsa. Yeah, she was real greedy and everything but I still like Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood in the first Indiana Jones movie, "Raiders of the Lost Ark". And of course John Williams score is just terrific. I can probably hum the whole Indiana Jones theme song! For those of you who haven't seen this movie, well, I'm telling you to put it on you 'must see' list!...more info - Every Woman's Dream

Honestly, I don't like the first two Jones films. They're sort of grotesque for my taste, but this one is witty, fairly clean, and full of good honest (and entertaining) action. A must-have for your collection!...more info - Wish amazon sold this seperately as a DVD
Definitely the best of the three movies. If you like over the top acting, lots of stunts with little plot- as some do- you'll love the second one, Temple of Doom. If you like action movies that are like 80% of all the other action movies out there, Raiders of the lost ark has plenty of stunts for you too. (Okay, maybe Raiders spares a tad more originality than most action films), but if you're into movies that tell a great story- as only good movies do, get this one. The Last Crusade is one of those rare films that takes a whole bunch of genres and skillfully puts it all into one film. It's an action film, A romance, a comedy, an adventure film- all into one. If they had put in a little sci-fi/horror in there you'd have the whole damn video store. It's the perfect film for when you have a bunch of people over with different tastes. Sure to satisfy them all.
Not related: Amazon should really remove some of the reviews that customers give on certain products. What an excellent wrap up to this trilogy. And what a complete repentance from "Temple of Doom" I might add. In "Last Crusade", Steven Spielberg reverts back to taking the Indiana Jones saga seriously, and ends it with a bang. The introduction of Indiana's father, and his relationship with Indiana as an 'odd couple', was brilliant. It gave the movie a serious tone with the calculated injections of humor that Harrison Ford superbly masters in most of his films. This one you definately won't lose interest in, and the climax at the end is by far the best part....more info - The last Indiana Jones film until 2008.
