This backpack was well worth the price. Extremely durable, so many compartments, and tons of space inside. The only problem was that the built in laptop sleeve didn't fit my 17" laptop all the way :(. I have an hp, and would think any other brand (macbook) might fit just fine. This is a nice pack for the money. The old maxim "you get what you pay for" applies here with one caveat: it should be "you get what the company expected you to pay at first." I wouldn't pay the $120 original MSRP for this pack, but $40 is a very good deal. A couple of other reviewers have noted that this pack is very durable, and the build construction seems to suggest they are correct. The laptop storage area fits my 15.4" widescreen (1280x800) MSI GX630 laptop perfectly. The zippers seem to be of the substantial heavy-duty type, and the canvas seems to be good quality. I think one of the other reviewers counted the pockets and came up with around 30, which sounds about right. It has pockets galore. The mouse pocket is an especially nice addition, but that brings me to one of only two complaints - the stitching holding the small square of velcro that holds the mouse pocket top flap shut is coming loose. On the other hand, it's not really a big deal, as the mouse pocket is contained within another pocket. Also, as another reviewer noted, the two main compartments are connected at the bottom (i.e. smaller items can slide underneath the separating wall) but there is a flap down there which can be folded up into the laptop compartment, effectively separating them. All things considered, this is a great deal for the price. It's a great product, very well down with good materials and many many pockets.It fits perfectly a 15-inch notebook, kind of tight for a bigger one (I didn't try it though) It's kind of large and if you have small shoulders one of the padded strap will end up in your arm.

Summary:
I've used this bag for a while now and I can safely say this is of high quality and exceptionally made. It's a wonderful exceptional bag that takes care of my Dell MP1530 when I decide to carry it. And after you break it in, it is quite comfortable and has soft back pads that help with carrying heavy items, even when your back hurts. All in all an irreplaceable bag that I would like to buy once more when it reaches the price point I saw before.
Pros:
Lots of Pockets
I'm absolutely in love with the vast amount of pockets and pocket placement in this bag. I tend to be very disorganized but this bag helps me look like a pro planner. It also has a wonderful pocket to put my wallet in as it takes a thief some time to finagle around to get it open but takes me little to no time to retrieve. Really wonderful design on that end.
Really Sturdy
Extremely durable and takes my abuse when I carry lots of books and paper to and from school. I have yet to see a loose string or anything resembling wear on this backpack.
Holds a lot of items
I carried 2 large schoolbooks as well as my dell laptop and it seems to still hold more. Only problem is I can't humanly carry that much and the limit seems to be my back rather than the backpack.

Amazon was perfect with this shipment, though not every order was perfect. I think YMMV depending on the product shipped.
Cons:
Needs to be Broken into (especially for females)
Initially the straps hurt and needed to be adjusted as I am female as well. But after some time (1 month or 2) it became much more comfortable and became an indispensable part of my school life.
Slightly Heavy
It also tends to be slightly heavier as the materials are durable and constructed for long term use rather than short term.

I ride a bike to work every day. I cary my 17" computer, my camera, my tripod. ALL in this backpack. Lots of pockets to put things so you can find them later. Big pockets and small so every thin has it's place.
It's also comfortable riding with it on my back. The straps have good padding and they are just the right width apart. I'd buy a second one but what would I put in it? Everything fits in the first one....more info - Excellent Durable Bag for All Occasions
I love this bag. I have had a number of back packs and bar far this is the best one I ever had. I use it for work and travel. I am able to fit my 15" laptop. I have read that some reviews about 17" laptop not fitting, I do not know, nor can I comment on that. It is durable with many pockets. Swiss Gear is one of the few companies I would never buy a product from again. I asked for this backpack ~1.5 years ago for my birthday, about halfway through my college career. I needed something to carry around my new Macbook in, and this seemed suitable. Indeed, you can really load this backpack up, and it has dozens of little pockets and compartments. Unfortunately, the quality is unacceptable. I happen to usually pick up my backpack by the right strap, and now the strap is about to rip off. (I just hope it lasts 2 more months until I graduate) A friend of mine has the same backpack with the same problem. Another friend of mine had a different Swiss Gear backpack, and the whole front fabric panel came off from the top seam. This company uses it's "Swiss Army"-like branding to sell substandard gear. I would recommend Targus or STM bags instead....more info - nice one!

This is a very high quality backpack for a very reasonable price.
The backpack has two large compartments, four smaller compartments for medium sized compartments, two side pockets(one with a hidden pocket for a knife or something like that) each one has a mesh pocket on the outside(for a water bottle or whatever), several smaller pockets inside the medium and larger compartments for pens, pencils, etc.
The large compartments also contain a very strong laptop sleeve(can hold up to a 17inch laptop), a media pocket for an mp3 player(and a hole to run the headphones cord through), and several sleeves for notebooks or papers.
The straps are of a very strong material and feel well secure, as well as the top handle. The straps have a pocket to hold your cell phone on one side and a spot to hold sunglasses on the other sleeve.
