Customer Reviews:- Great Idea. Great Product
This thing is an awesome idea. Install the software. Plug it into your computer. Enter the products codes of your amplifier, TV, Bluray (which is under DVD for some reason) and DVR and your are done!
I got rid of 5 remotes and all the clutter that goes along with it AND it works perfectly with the XBOX 360.
My only complaints are:
1) The volume control comes in spurts (hold button and then it seems to accelerate in volume rather than instantly climb - might be my amp)
2) The button clicks take some getting used to.
3) 1 out of 5 times you have to hit "help" to retry one of the devices that failed to switch to the right channel or turn on (again might not be the remote, but the device).
4) There is no Blu Ray setup settings. It is under the DVD section.
However I give it a 5 because it is so easy to use and really well made....more info - Exactly what I needed
I expected to get my new Samsung LN40B550, Xbox 360, and cable box to work with this remote, but it also works with my 12 year old Sharp all-in-one "4.1" surround system. I didn't expect it to work with that at all! I had planned on replacing my makeshift receiver soon; but now I get to save up a little longer for the Harman Kardon AVR-254, rather than the Harman Kardon AVR-154. ...more info - How did I live without this remote?
Worked perfectly out of the box
Easy to program
Does everything.
Warning - you cannot use the remote to actually play games - but if you use Xbox media center apps - this is excellent.
On DishDVR I had to change the default programming to add DVR menu functions to the ABXY buttons.

Wonderful product, Once you sit down to go through the process of dialing everything in it works great. Amazon shipped fast......more info - Excellent Product
There is really not much I would change about this product and it is a must have for anyone whose Xbox 360 is a central component of their home theater. I've used this remote for over a year now and I think I've changed the batteries once. It is a bit tedious to set up and fine tune how you want the controls to work, but believe me it is worth it. This remote does the job of my four previous remotes combined with the touch of a single button. BTW, don't bother with the fancy color screens and RF remotes. They just drain batteries faster while assaulting your bank account....more info - Great Product
So we had gotten a new home entertainment system, and I was in multiple remote hell. So I bought this remote based off reputation, and boy did it stand up to it.
First of all, I like to think that I am fairly tech savy, and for the traditional person, this remote would have been a breeze to set up. However, I have a few components that are newer to the market, so they were not listed in thier database. After trying to manual configure it for 4 hours, I gave up and called customer support. This was one of the more positive experiences of my life.
The tech walked me through setting up my remote, as well as programed my remote on the back end to work the way I wanted it to. And now, my sound system (Sound On WHT-510) and my Netflix box (Roku) are a part of thier permenant database for everyone to use. Which I think is a great tool.
The great thing about this remote is the one function to turn everything to where it needs to be. As all the other reviews have mentioned, this feature makes life so much easier. Although I have noticed that you do have to be patient, as the remote can only send one command at a time. So if you are changing inputs on the tv, powering up your dvd player and swtiching inputs on your reciever, it has to process those commands in order. My biggest suggestion is to hit the button, set the remote down and let it run. In reality, it takes about 5 seconds.
I will say there is only one drawback, which I noted other people had mentioned. The remote is only fat at the back end where the batteries are. Which is expected. I would have prefered the remote be same size all the way through. It just feels more natural to me that way. The keys do make a clicking noise that I am not used too, but that is something that I will easily overlook just for the fact that I can put all my other remotes in a drawer.
I would recommend getting rechargable batteries for this remote. Or at least setting the backlight to be less than 20 seconds. I don't know how long they will last, but the remote is always on, so I can imagine that it will eat them pretty fast. A nice feature would be a sleep function on the remote to save batteries. In all honesty, I use rechargable all the time anyway, so I will regardless. ...more info - be careful
This did not work for an LG LCD television. The delay was too long even after adjustements. It did not work well on the Bose system either. ...more info - Broke
This crap broke in like 4 months.
Before that it was ok. It was annoying having to switch from TV to DVR....more info - ONE REMOTE TO RULE THEM ALL
This remote is perfect and very simple to set up. You will love it!...more info - Life is better now
The remote worked as advertised. It took about 5 minutes to setup my HDTV, Comcast DVD-R, Blu-ray DVD, A/V receiver, and X-Box 360. Software installed easily on Windows XP. After software installation, it downloaded latest version of software and firmware for remote. Life is much better with one instead of five remotes :)...more info - Garbage Screen
The LCD screen on this remote is utter garbage. 2 weeks after initial purchase it turned into straight lines and now it is completely empty. Logitech keeps giving me the run around with firmware updates, reference numbers, safe mode, etc etc. Buyer Beware. ...more info - Great remote
This remote is awesome. After you get it configured, you can pretty much forget about your other remotes. Logitech has what seems like an endless database of components. It picked up my old receiver, new TV, obscure cable box, and of course my 360. It does take a little configuration to get it right, but this thing is well worth the price. Not sure how I ever got along without it....more info - Excellent
If you have an xbox360 and an entertainment center with a lot of components this is the best remote solution I have seen. I am very impressed. Initial setup was easy but there will be some tweaking to get more advanced functions to work the way you want them to. After the remote is setup a single button click will switch between Watch TV, Watch DVD, or anything else you want to configure. Also has a "Help" feature that will guide you through correcting a setup if you did not have the remote pointed in the direction of the components or something was blocking the IR receiver like kids or wife....more info - buy only if you have a 360
its ok but if you got butter fingers or have the habit to launch your controller from a blanket tryin to look for it and it drops and does a dramatic roll.....its very fragile. this is my 2nd one and the 1st one fell so many times the down button wouldnt work and after a while all buttons ceased to be useful, but i got a second one, i dropped it and now the down button doesnt work but if you can take care of it, it will take care of you..so it all depends on you......you jerks...more info - Great Universal Remote!!!!
Works with all components in my home theather setup and a breeze to setup. Only issue I have was learning the buttons that were intended for the cable box, just took awhile to get used to the new system....more info - Not perfect, but the best by a long shot
After numerous recommendations from friends, I finally decided to take the plunge and get a Harmony remote. I chose the 360 remote because I use my Xbox 360 to watch DVDs and streaming Netflix, and it was reasonably priced. The battery life seems more than adequate so far, and after a little bit of setup, I've replaced at least 4 remotes.
The best part of the Harmony is that it is flexible, though setting it up might not be that easy for the non-tech-savvy. Using an internet-enabled computer to program the remote ensures you will always be able to update it for new products, and you can tweak the settings to make sure your system operates the way you want it to. Being able to adjust the volume through my receiver while using navigation controls for the DVD player *without changing modes* is a tremendous boon to my convenience....more info - Easy To Set Up
It took me some time to set this puppy up. I have this controlling my TV, my Digital Cable Box, Xbox 360 (With HD-DVD Drive), my HDMI Switch and finally my remote control fan. It is incredible, on how, with a little trial and error, the remote will turn on the TV, and the xbox, then select the correct input on the TV and the correct input on my HDMI. Once all of those are up, it will go down to the bottom of my xbox guide and select the HD-Drive. If there is a movie, the movie will begin, else it will eject the tray asking for a movie. All with ONE button press and about 30 seconds of patience.
Am I lazy, yes, but it is darn cool. My only complaint, sometimes you have to press the buttons harder than you should. And sometimes when you set up a device, you have to add buttons to the menu, which isnt difficult but none the less, like the other devices, I didnt think I needed to tell someone that I needed a power button for my fan?!?!?.
Alas, I did set it up, and it took some time, but it was well worth it.

Yes it works. Controls all equipment min fuss. Every one from my 5 year old to non tech wife can use this remote....more info - HArmony Rocks
This is my second Harmony remote. I think these are the best! My previous 3 year old unit broke after being dropped one to many times. I ordered the XBOX version to better control my xbox and media center PC. I went online and the Harmony software converted my settings to the new remote in just a couple minutes. No fuss, no worries - GET A HARMONY...more info - One remote to rule them all!!!
One remote, seriously! Super easy setup, super easy to use, if you can read, you can do it. ...more info - Great remote!
This is an excellent remote. I'm probably not a "power user" (I only use it for 3 "activities"), but it does everything as advertiesed. I especially like it for watching NetFlix movies through my XBox 360. It's a lot easier to pause/stop/rewind using this remote than with an XBox controller. Setup is easy via the included USB cable. My only complaint, and it's minor, is the small number buttons. But even that doesn't stop me from giving it 5 stars....more info - So simple it took me 5 hours to figure it out
After finally figuring out the remote I feel like an idiot. I just assumed that nothing could really be that simple so I spent 5 hours complicating the situation and frustrating the crap out of myself. When I finally figured it out it was dead simple. I had only to make a few tiny modifications (button mapping) and now it controls my 2 TVs, xbox 360, and amplifier all with one simple remote. And if that isn't cool enough every single button (except for the record button - for a dvr) lights up. This never should have taken 5 hours, but I'm a guy and refused to look at the instruction manual. I know I'm not the only one who made that mistake; you know who you are....more info - Great remote - works through Xbox via IR sensor
I echo all that has been said on these reviews but my only addition would be to add that this remote works via the IR sensor on the Xbox 360 console. It does not work like the game remotes as they are RF. This would have been helpful to me, but I just had to reposition my IR repeater to also catch the 360 in its range. One would think that if it is specifically built for the 360, it would also function as RF? I am sure I am missing a reason why it couldn't be, but this remote is perfect. The reaction time is instant on turning components on and off, set up is a breeze. ...more info - Excellent solution for my problems
I've been through a lot of remotes, including an older Harmony. This one perfrectly met my needs, and now I can actually put the other remotes in a drawer. My system has a Toshiba HDTV, Sony receiver w/HDMI switch, Moto/FioTV cable box, and Xbox 360. This remote does everything I want to do, and was very easy to set up. My only complaint is that I wish the transport buttons were easier to identify in the dark....more info - Perfect Remote - Perfect Price!!
I can not believe how easy this remote is to set up. I did all the set up while playing Gears of War online. If I died (rare) or in between matches, I would continue with the setup. It really was easy. I love the Activities. Pure Genius! Works perfectly with the 360 (obviously) and all my other devices. I can't stress enough - if you are on the fence for a remote like this, get it! You won't regret it. I am 6'5" and have huge hands and have no problems at all using any of the buttons on the remote. I love it. kthxbai...more info - Great remote, great price!
I'm brand new to the world of Universal Remotes. I searched high and low, read many reviews and attempted to filter through the differences between them all.
Logitech seemed like the brand of choice for most people and they have a wide array of choices. I knew that I didn't want to spend a lot of money, if I didn't have to. This remote became the obvious solution to use in conjunction with the XBox360, otherwise I would have gone with the Harmony 510 (which seems to be the same remote for users without XBox360).
The main difference between this remote and the high end remote is the lack of a "touch screen" and "battery charger". If you don't want/need either of those things, don't spend the money.
Getting the remote ready to operate my equipment was a breeze. I am an avid Mac user, so clearly a bit wary of how well a Logitech product would work. But, all went smooth. After installing the software on your computer, just plug the remote in via a USB cable provided and you're on your way.
If something isn't working properly after you've set your remote up, the remote is helpful in attempting to diagnose the problem and you can always go back and tweak or add settings later. Once I had mine programmed, I went back to the computer to program extra feature buttons for different devices.
So far I have my remote controlling a new Samsung 52" LCD TV, an old Pioneer AV Receiver, a new Samsung Blu Ray player, a Bose SoundDock and my XBox360. ...more info - Great product, lives up to the hype!
Like most people, my coffee table was filled with remotes. TV, cable box, stereo, DVD player, etc. I've tried my cable remote's "universal" functions and other universal remotes, and none of them ever really worked very well. Or they would work great on one or two devices, and not on my stereo. Finally, the worst part was explaining to guests (especially my parents) how to turn on the TV if I'm not there or asleep ("Power on the TV with this remote, make sure the input is on HDMI, now power on the cable, etc).
The Harmony Xbox 360 is the first remote that works on every device I throw at it, and the Activities concept is so simple I'm wondering why more technology doesn't work this way. Everyone who comes over is instantly able to work my TV, play the Xbox, watch DVDs, etc. And if something goes out of sync you just click "Help" and it helpfully asks which devices are not powered on. Easy!
My only complaint, and it's a very small one, is the lack of a global Sleep function for when I might fall asleep watching TV and want it to power off automatically. As it stands, I have to activate the Sleep function of each device, and then the next morning the remote is out of sync (because it didn't power the devices off itself, the remote doesn't know they were ever turned off). A global Sleep function in the remote would be great, but you'd have to fall asleep with the remote pointed in the general direction of all the devices you want powered off.
Overall, my life (or at least my enjoyment of leisure time) has improved since I bought this remote....more info - Disappointment...
Bought this maybe 3 to 4 months ago and let me just preface with the fact that all of our equipment is new. (8 month old TV, 1 year old XBOX, new receiver) At first it was perfect, then it started acting up. Namely, if you turned off everything while it was on one input (lets say Imput 3 for watching tv) and then tried to turn everything back on for the same activity, it would try to change the tv channel instead of the input. Then this morning I pick up the remote and the screen is completely cracked down the middle. Never was it thrown, tossed, sat on, or any other kind of extreme physical violence most remotes endure. The buttons still work as long as I remember what the screen usually displayed, but extremely disappointing for the price. Our other Logitech remote that is in the family room works much better, but that one isn't designed specifically for the XBOX. ...more info - Bargain in a great universal remote
I bought this remote to replace an exact duplicate that had worn out due to LOTS of use. It works great! I've tried a lot of universal remotes before finding this one that does a great job at a very reasonable price. The replacement went flawlessly as well. I just plugged the new remote into my PC and fired up the software. It detected it and allowed me to load my old programming in about 2 minutes. I was up and running that quick. I highly recommend if you are looking for a universal remote for a low price. The macro functions are great for setting up multiple devices with a single button click....more info - Perfect.
If you need a universal remote and you want one to also control your XBOX 360, do not hesitate, this is the one.
I had searched for a while for the perfect universal remote and finally decided on this one and I truly reccomend it.
The user manual, which is basically non existent is not that great, but once you set it up and spend some time with it, it's great.
Give yourself an hour or two to fine tune the remote, and you'll ask how you have gone so long without it.
I have a Comcast DVR, RCA Audio Reciever, Samsung HDTV, a Pelican AV Selector, and the XBOX 360 and this remote controls all of them.
You also create a "profile" for each activity using the different sources. If I watch TV, I'm using the TV, the Reciever and the DVR and the profile I create controls all three, plus I can make any buttons do whatever I want. Because the default choice for OnDemand was far up on the remote I made one of the unused XBOX buttons (yellow) my OnDemand button.
The remote is actually better than I thought it was going to be, serioulsy. I searched for ages and I'm glad I made this choice. The only reason I'm writing this review is because the remote worked beyond what I thought it would do and I figure there has to be more people like me trying to figure out which one is best.
One hint I'll share is that if you click on "devices" it will cycle through your sources and profiles, something I found by accident that made the remote even easier to use. I thought I had to use the LCD select areas to get back to my "watch tv" setting, but by hitting "devices" it will cycle back to you profile.
Anyways, easily 5 stars!...more info - STOP LOOKING AND BUY THIS!
I don't take the time to write many reviews unless a product blows me away. This product blew me away. I have gone through 2 other universal remotes which were supposed to support the XBOX 360 for DVD playback but neither worked. I could never get one of them to recognize my XBOX 360 and the other required me to send the remote in to their service center for a firmware upgrade. It may have worked if I took the time to do that, but this is 2008.
This remote seems to be based on a standard Logitech Universal Remote and just adds the XBOX functionality. It even has the 4 XBOX colored buttons.
The beauty of this remote is programming it to work with my devices. I have never been through an easier process. You basically load the software on your PC, let it know what devices you have, then use the remote and see if it works. If it doesn't, there isnt any complex programming. The remote will troubleshoot for you. For example, my TV was tuning to the wrong input when I chose to "Play Xbox". The remote asks if it worked. I clicked no and it let me through a troubleshooting process ON THE REMOTE and fixed itself. VERY COOL! A+++
My only complaint is I can't figure out how to change radio stations on my receiver. It very well may work and I just haven't discovered it yet. I only spent about 30 minutes with it so I'm likely overlooking something. ...more info - Awesome Remote
Great Remote, Did everything that I needed it to do. Set up was simple. In great condition as well. Great Price....more info - Great purchase!
Definitely a worthwhile purchase! I have a pretty complicated A/V system because my rear-projection TV only has one HDMI jack, and my stereo isn't an HDMI switch, so I need to have an HDMI video switch in the mix and have all of my audio go into the stereo through two optical jacks and a coax. Nobody in my family but me could figure out how to set everything up previously! With this remote, however, the "activities" make it simple enough that even my 6 year old daughter can go from PS3 mode to "watch TV" mode with no issues. Also, it's only taken a couple of weeks to be able to use the controller by touch without looking at it - that's good ergonomics!
It *did* take a little while to get working close to the way I wanted, and I haven't finished yet, but it's still ten times better than having all the separate remotes. I think I could greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to turn things on from scratch, which is the only way it could be better, since the only issue family members sometimes have using the remote is not leaving it pointed at everything long enough for the remote to turn everything on and get to the right inputs. Still - huge improvement in media usability with this remote!
The only thing that doesn't work perfectly, and this is completely the fault of Sony, not Harmony/Logitech, is that the PS3 is wireless blue-tooth, not infra-red, so you can't control the PS3 at all without getting a third-party solution. Again, not a big deal, just don't expect to be able to watch movies on your PS3 without getting either an infra-red adapter (which I believe still can't turn the PS3 on and off) or a third party box. I can watch movies on either xbox360 or PS3, so this doesn't bother me, but if you only have a PS3, expect to have to buy more hardware. Again - completely the fault of Sony for not making the PS3 more IR compatible. I'd still buy it in a heartbeat if you have significant others or kids who have trouble using your A/V system!...more info - Great remote - Will never go back now!
I use this remote with a 4-device setup, including Windows Media Center through an Xbox 360. It totally meets the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) and works great. Intuitive and has great recovery Help screens to walk you through issues (i.e. turned away from screen after engaging macro). Very easy setup on the PC through the Logitech software.
I did have to do some manual tweaking in the software to get the remote to finalize on Media Center functions, but not a big deal. ...more info - Great Product!!!!
I love this remote! It makes my life so much easier. I will never use anything but harmony remotes forever...more info
